Keeping It Fresh

Today I have some really sick music for you from the EDM world. I had the chance to see Knife Party and Kill the Noise perform live tonight and its was an absolutely phenomenal show. There was so much bumping energy and just a great atmosphere. I am keeping it a bit simple and short today, but I really hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today I have some music by a band that happens to be working on their next album. Bastille is one of the greatest bands to come to the forefront these past few years. This is a band that takes their music very seriously and has created such a style that is utterly recognizable among the thrall of other songs that are out there. I have to say, this song in particular is possibly my favorite song by Bastille. This is a song that has this incredible power to it in the sense that when you listen to it, it fills you with this incredible rush. Bastille has given this song such an exhilarating sound to it, the kind of feeling you get when you've done something amazing. It is the kind of feeling you get when you know that you are really living, really making the most of the moments you have. Which is perfect considering the lyrics and song topic! I think this is a very interesting route for Bastille to take because it is unlike a lot of the songs on their album. Bastille tends to work thei...

Today's music is all about that big room house style. This first song is by AN21 and features Max Vangeli. It has a good beat and some pretty sweet drops. Plus the fusion of a piano chorus is pretty awesome! It seems that this harder style of EDM is starting to take a backseat in favor of house and trap. However, these songs are the ones that make you want to rage, and we shouldn't forget that! I thought it would be a nice change to get some music like this out there, so happy raging! Today's instrumental song is by Blasterjaxx and really pulls the crazy dancer out of you. Or just crazy in general. This song has so much energy and makes you get out there, its just something you have to do! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Hey guys, sorry about not posting yesterday. I returned to Austin for a few days and got a little caught up in seeing the squad. But today I am back with some music for you! This song is by an artist who is really underground and also happens to be a solo artist. Olivver the Kid who also goes by just Olivver the Kid has a very interesting sound to his specific path of music. He likes to describe himself as an alternative kind of R&B artist, and this is a description I completely agree with. Olivver the Kid has a very soulful and sweet voice that is accompanied by guitars and synthesized percussion. The beat pattern he uses in his music, and in this song in particular, are slower and larger in a sense. The drumbeat is the most prominent instrumental sound we hear in this song. Of course in the bridges we get a beautiful background of keyboads and melodic synth sounds, but otherwise, we really get this full and heavy beat that is the backbone of the song. All the talk these days is a...

Today I have some music for you that is inspired by a huge festival that is happening right now. Electric Daisy Carnival has begun and boy do we have some awesome things going on. There are so many different acts, and the line up is absolutely amazing. The only thing I can complain about is the fact that I am not there to go listen to some sick beats and get my dance on. However, there are some livestreams going on for EDC so I will have to make do with those. But in honor of this wonderfully crazy festival, I decided that I would keep things on the electronic side of things for a few days. So to kickstart this nice little homage is some music by a pretty underground artist known as 3Lau. This act consists of one guy doing some incredible things with music. I guess you could call him a Las Vegas prodigy, especially considering he picked up DJ-ing after traveling around for a bit. But 3Lau has a really interesting style, blending dubstep and different versions of house. Some of 3Lau...

Today I have music for you by the group known as For The Foxes. This song is one of those awesome feel good songs, the kind that you can listen to at anytime and the one that makes you want to feel free. I don't know, there is something about this song that is both calming and driving at the same time. The soft drum and guitar work is very soothing, but the stylization of the melodies and harmonies excites you with the prospect of freedom. This song gives that feeling of wanting to be free, running around at night with friends and doing whatever it is you want to do. This song is seriously so chill and relaxing that I feel so at ease when listening to it. The vocals are extremely nice because there is this soothing and water like nature to the voice that makes it just flow over the ears and over you. The vocals are just so nice to listen to! This song deosn't really have a climax with the instrumentals, but the vocals do a good job of taking care of that. It changes from a deep...

Today's song is not a very new one, and it kind of is a well known song. I have just had it stuck in my head all day, not that I mind because it is a great song, but I thought I would post it! Kings of Leon have created a catchy tune with nice guitar melodies and the raspy vocals with so much grit makes this song so perfect. I think the grit and underlying power is the best part of this song. Now today's second song is not an instrumental but a cover version. I found this and absolutely fell in love because of how incredible Jamie Archer is. He used this song as an audition piece and totally killed it! This audition was so brilliant and he truly understands what it means to perform. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
