Keeping It Fresh

Today I have music for you by the group known as For The Foxes. This song is one of those awesome feel good songs, the kind that you can listen to at anytime and the one that makes you want to feel free. I don't know, there is something about this song that is both calming and driving at the same time. The soft drum and guitar work is very soothing, but the stylization of the melodies and harmonies excites you with the prospect of freedom. This song gives that feeling of wanting to be free, running around at night with friends and doing whatever it is you want to do. This song is seriously so chill and relaxing that I feel so at ease when listening to it. The vocals are extremely nice because there is this soothing and water like nature to the voice that makes it just flow over the ears and over you. The vocals are just so nice to listen to! This song deosn't really have a climax with the instrumentals, but the vocals do a good job of taking care of that. It changes from a deep...

Today's song is not a very new one, and it kind of is a well known song. I have just had it stuck in my head all day, not that I mind because it is a great song, but I thought I would post it! Kings of Leon have created a catchy tune with nice guitar melodies and the raspy vocals with so much grit makes this song so perfect. I think the grit and underlying power is the best part of this song. Now today's second song is not an instrumental but a cover version. I found this and absolutely fell in love because of how incredible Jamie Archer is. He used this song as an audition piece and totally killed it! This audition was so brilliant and he truly understands what it means to perform. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today I have some music for you by a band that did experience some fame within the past couple of years with one of their singles. Rixton is a very underrated band in my opinion. They had one single out that got big, I agree. And it was a generally pop-y tune. I have to say I think that was a song that was geared towards the pop culture sound that people craved on the Top 40 list. But, Rixton is a band that is a lot deeper than that and way more talented than what we heard about a guy and his broken heart. This song by Rixton is simply incredible. This is a real showcase of how talented this band is, and especially the vocalist. The thing about Rixton is that a lot of times they create this opposing sound in comparison to the lyrics. If a song has sadder lyrics, they tend to compose music that is more upbeat to offset the bleak lyrics. I am honestly a huge fan of their more "underground" or lesser known songs. I really like the melody that bridges the verses to the chorus. Th...

Today I have music from a band out of Canada called Marianas Trench. This song is absolutely phenomenal! They skillfully and artfully combine a pop rock sound with older pop/swing music. This song is so fun to listen to and it always gets you up and dancing. It has that energy that will always pick you up and make you want to go out and go have fun! This band is one that I highly recommend delving deeper into, because they have incredible music and awesome vocals! The lead singer's vocal range is so impressive! Today's instrumental song is a version of a song by the always amazing Olly Murs. It is just as fun and energetic, and I love it! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today's song definitely takes on the emotional side of things. Jonathan Clay, what a beautifully poignant job he has done. This song just pulls the emotion out of you with both the lyrics and acoustic music in the background. Clay's soft and smooth vocals carry so much emotion and power in them that you really feel what he does. Whether you take the lyrics as him questioning why there is fighting, or what we should be fighting for, this song is just incredible beautiful. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Mr. Nobody. This is a movie that definitely gets you thinking, whether it be about the content of the movie or just trying to figure out the plot. I won't lie, this is can be a confusing movie, with a lot of twists and turns and a very interesting perspective on time. That is what makes this such an interesting but difficult movie to watch. There is a lot of theory behind the principles in the movie. But, the soundtrack is very easy to discern. Each piece corr...

Today I have some newer music for you by one of my favorite R&B singers. Trey Songz has an incredibly sexy voice, one that is silky smooth and completely effortless in my opinion. There is this beautiful flow to his voice, the way water flows and washes over you. This is definitely a typical Trey Songz kind of song, meaning that it is a very great song for the bedroom. Trey Songz definitely has the reputation of having an arsenal of babymaking songs in his production repertoire. The song starts with a guitar playing a smooth and calming melody, with Trey Songz then entering with soft and almost brittle vocals. He takes it easy, with low and calm vocals which then start to elevate and grow as the song goes on. The simple stringed melody continues for a good portion of the beginning before the other instruments are added in, which is a little bit different for an R&B song like this. A lot of times the instruments are added in quickly to generate that passionate sound, but Trey So...

Today I have some more Bollywood music for you. I honestly have not been able to get this song out of my head, and for good reason. This is a song that is ridiculously catchy and fun. I mean it is an easier song to sing to, especially since a lot of the lyrics are the same throughout the song, especially the chorus. This is from a movie called Khiladi, and is from a movie I have never seen. Sorry! I can't really tell you much in terms of how the movie is. But, I can tell you that this song is kind of a more low key song, but is one of those awesome underground songs. This song has this simple sound to it, the way the programmed lines are, the beat of the song, the rhythm. Everything just has this more controlled feel to it while also having that "go with the flow" kind of feel. I think that is a really incredible kind of mixing because it is hard to make something energetic while also making it feel totally free form and adaptable. This is a song that is really meant for ...
