Clean Bandit loves throwing a lot of older sounds, from past decades, and jazz it up with some modern twists. Honestly, their music and production is something that is just incredible. This is a band that creates music that is infectious and has such a great energy to it that it is impossible to stay still! This is a movie that has so much pain, heart and emotion, sadness, and passion and love. My Name Is Khan is one of the most influential Hindi movies of our recent generation for a number of reasons. This is a movie that openly talks about ideas of terrorism and the stereotypes associated with Indian and Middle Eastern people because of terrorism. It talks about the pain and torment that many Muslims have gone through because of religious intolerance and increased profiling in regards to terrorism. This movie also brings to light social responses due to disability. This movie exposes some of the social injustices that people of all groups face and points out that stereotyping and cruelty are things that exist in the social structure of today. Mikky Ekko has a voice that is unlike anyone else and a style that is something so indescribably beautiful. Mikky Ekko sings with passion and emotion that is heard in every word. Everything about his music is so spectacular because of how wonderfully moving it is. The thing about Mikky Ekko is that he is able to pull at the heartstrings and emotions that we don't necessarily like addressing or talking about or experiencing. He knows how to write music and make songs that completely understands us. Today I have a song for you by an electronic artist that I am absolutely in love with. Adrian Lux has such an incredible sound to his music. There is always a certain feeling that he evokes with the melodies and harmonies within the song. This song is particular has a darker energy to it, but it is one of those songs that makes you want to explore the darker depths. The first time I heard this song was actually on Teen Wolf. I don't quite remember when they used this song, but I can clearly imagine what kind of scene they would have used this song for. It makes me think of either a dance or when something intense is about to happen. I personally find this an awesome song to workout to, especially running. Today I have music for you from Puerto Rico by a group know as Da'Zoo. These artists, they know how to turn up the party vibes. This song has everything from a sick beat to hot back and forth between the guy and girl. The lyrics to the song are a little dirty, no doubt about it. But what's wrong with a little bit to spice things up a bit? And seeing as most people don't even understand what the lyrics mean, it's all good! But this song has a really wicked dance beat to it that is so different than your typical Latin style music. For one, this song relies heavily on the use of electronics and synth to make the awesome sounds. This group makes great use of the electric bass and there is this organic fluidity to the way the song sounds. Today I have music for you by an extremely talented German rapper who goes by the name Cro. I was instantly hooked to this from the beginning. I think what entranced me the most was the idea of someone rapping to a groovy tune like this. In the majority of American rap, music like this does not accompany rap music and honestly, it sucks sometimes. This song is so fresh and unique and so out there that you can't help but enjoy it! I understand nothing in this song, but there is a fluidity to the rap that makes me kind of understand the idea of being suave and charming. This song has such a pumped up energy to it and the unique style that the instrumentals have makes this song wonderfully delightful. Today I have some new music for you by the incredibly awesome and exciting DJ, Dillon Francis. I am incredibly psyched for this because he happens to be coming to Austin next week, which means the Dillon Francis binge has begun. However, with this song we get an added bonus. This song includes the masterful and brilliant work of Kygo. Normally, the styles of these two artists would not gel as well, but Dillon Francis really explored the tropical house side of things with his new album. And on that note, Kygo is also starting to branch out a little bit more towards different styles of music in the EDM world. Both of these guys working together is of course an amazing thing to see because who doesn't love a little bit of collaboration? And if both the artists in the collaboration are stellar, well, then why the hell not?
