My Name Is Khan and The Gladiator

Today I have some music for you from a movie that is one of the greatest Bollywood movies of this recent decade. This is a movie that has so much pain, heart and emotion, sadness, and passion and love. My Name Is Khan is one of the most influential Hindi movies of our recent generation for a number of reasons. This is a movie that openly talks about ideas of terrorism and the stereotypes associated with Indian and Middle Eastern people because of terrorism. It talks about the pain and torment that many Muslims have gone through because of religious intolerance and increased profiling in regards to terrorism. This movie also brings to light social responses due to disability. This movie exposes some of the social injustices that people of all groups face and points out that stereotyping and cruelty are things that exist in the social structure of today. But this movie also highlights the power of love and care. It emphasizes the great strength that we can all cling to from family and friends, people we love and care about. This movie is a beautiful construction of the idea of picking oneself up even when the world has thrown you to the ground. This movie is an intricate tapestry of the realities of the world, the good and the bad. The experiences we see in this movie are woven together to tell a story that is something both heart wrenching and beautifully inspiring. This is film that is very unique to the world of Bollywood and the world of film making in general. It is a movie that is close to home, both because of my race and because of the context of this movie. This movie is set after the events of September 11, 2001. While this is often a very hard subject to discuss, I think this movie does so in a lovely way. We get to hear the aftermath of that tragedy from the perspective of and Asian American, someone who is loyal to the United States but is hindered by the racial heritage that is held dear. I highly recommend you all watch this movie because it will open your eyes to the hidden side of the story. This film exposes the voice that was not and is still not heard loudly. The music in this movie is just as incredible as the purpose and production of the film. Each song has such magnificence and optimism and light-heartedness to it. This song in particular has a sweet kind of sound to it, the kind that you would listen to in the morning when the sun is shining through the windows and you know that it is going to be a wonderful day. This song is so warming and touching and fills the soul with so much joy and love and overall happiness. I always feel so incredible when listening to this song. It is almost a reassurance that everything will be okay. The lyrics to this song are also comforting and lovely. Everything about this song has this comfort that you can wrap yourself in, but still feel the freedom of the world around. This is the kind of song that will put you in the most marvelous mood. This is one of the most magical songs and soundtracks to any movie that I have ever heard. Sometimes you need songs like this to make it through life, and I am glad to be able to share a song like this with you all. I hope you do watch this movie because it is one you will not forget. Today's instrumental song is from the movie The Gladiator. I have to say, this is possibly the greatest movie score and composition the world has ever known. Out of all the movies out there, all the musical pieces, this is the most beautiful and most moving of them all. This is a song that bypasses everything and hits you directly in your heart and soul. From the beginning of the piece, you become part of the music and the music becomes a part of you. There is sadness, pain, wonder, peace, and true magic written into this score. This piece is one that leaves you speechless, unable to completely describe the magnificence that is this song. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
