Clean Bandit and The Piano Guys
Today I have some new music for you by a group that got pretty popular last year. Clean Bandit has a very distinct and signature style that you can pinpoint pretty easily. Clean Bandit loves throwing a lot of older sounds, from past decades, and jazz it up with some modern twists. Honestly, their music and production is something that is just incredible. This is a band that creates music that is infectious and has such a great energy to it that it is impossible to stay still! I think one of the best things about Clean Bandit is the capability they have to produce music. Everything you hear by Clean Bandit has been produced by themselves. The music is all composed and performed by artists within the band and the vocals are often done by people in the band in collaboration with other artists. Clean Bandit is a very unique band because they love to incorporate orchestral sounds into their dance styled music. Often times, they takes samples from music that has already been composed, from artists like Mozart and Beethoven. The way Clean Bandit is able to turn those classical and baroque melodies into something that is vivacious and contagious and completely fun is just amazing. In this song in particular, it seems that the piano tends to take the melody lines and is accompanied by a little bit of organ work in the background. This song employs sweeping violins, thrumming percussion, and a shuffling bass line to create a song that is irresistibly catchy. This song is tailored for the dance floor, something that will keep you moving and keep you smiling. There are uptempo beats in contingency with soaring vocals. There are elements of pop, hip hop, R&B, classical, and electronic music. This song is a melting pot of the greatest parts of the genres we love, the styles we love, the music we love! Today's instrumental song is by The Piano Guys. This is a duo consisting of a cellist and pianist, and they do covers and mashups of a lot of different pieces. Their main focus is doing renditions of pop songs, but also do a lot of classical work. This performance in particular is a wonderful mashup of these two styles, a clockwork of notes and melodies and beats. One of the things that really strikes me as incredible is their ability to get creative with their instruments. They don't always play their instruments in the conventional and normal style, but often times use their instruments as percussion beats. It really is impressive and just so brilliant. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
