It has been such a long time since I have posted a cultural song. So today's song is a song by Luis Enrique, and I have to say, it is such a great song! This has a very Latin American feel with the trumpets, and that specific percussion beat. But it also has a very tropical feel to it, and that tropical feel mixed with a Latin American background makes quite a good combo. I really like this song, especially the chorus, and if you understand Spanish, you will hear how great the lyrics and how meaningful they are. Today's instrumental song is from the movie The Mask Of Zorro. This song is also a very typical Latin song, especially since it meant as a tango song. Today's song is a new one off Switchfoot's new album. Now I know a lot of people think this is a"Christian" band, but I beg to differ. I look past the label put on these bands and look at the musical quality and lyrical nature of the song. So regarding this one, I absolutely love everything about it! The happiness that comes with the song is so contagious. I love the way the song starts and then the ethereal chorus with beautiful lyrics. And the music video is exactly what I imagined myself to be doing when listening to this song. Road tripping, driving to all those places with the sun shining everywhere. I highly recommend checking out this band and their new album because it is absolutely fantastic. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Chariots of Fire. This tune is actually very popular. Today's song is by a little band called Bombay Bicycle Club. What makes this band so different is pretty much everything! Their look, their sound, the way they use their instruments, everything is unique. They don't try and have a specific look; they wear what they feel like wearing. And then their music, well, its just incredible. I love how indie this band can get and how dark they can go with the musical sounds. Its kind of incredible to hear them! This song in particular has a moment when their sound gets pretty dark and then switches back so quickly to make this song seem like something that is completely alive. This song has that cafe kind of feel good sound to it. It is something that is kind of neutral but also more light hearted. I love the vocals in this song and the band's vocals in general. Today I have some music for you by an English artist that I absolutely love. He is one of the biggest Indian singers out there right now, independent of the Bollywood scene. Jay Sean is one of the sexiest singers my ears have ever had the pleasure to hear. He has a smooth and soft and lovely voice. Jay Sean has the kind of voice that you could let wash over you and totally enjoy it. Honestly, the most accurate description of Jay Sean's voice is to compare him to The Weeknd. Jay Sean is actually the Indian version of The Weeknd. He has the smooth voice, the slow jam music, and the overall sex appeal. His voice is one that just makes you feel so good, whether he is singing in Hindi or English. This is a song that is good for driving around, jamming on your own, or in the bedroom. Today I have a song from the 80s which actually has no correlation to the "throwback Thursday" nonsense that seems to be circling the internet. Anyway, this song is by a band out of Liverpool called A Flock Of Seagulls. This song has been featured in a few things, and I have to say, one of my favorite incorporation of this song is in That 70's Show. This song is probably their most famous one, and I can see why. It has that heavy synth appeal and bass that was popular in the 80s. It also has a kind of anthemic feel to the verses and chorus. All in all a good song! Today's instrumental is a really good song, kind of a favorite of mine. This song is by Don Henley and is somewhat popular. I just kind of like the overall feel of this song. It's nice! Today I have music for you by one of my favorite music projects out of London by the name Graffiti6. I have posted quite a bit of music by them in the past, and I think for good reason. Graffiti6 is one of those low key bands that a few people know about, and even fewer know how far their influence really goes. Graffiti6 is comprised of two musicians, Jamie Scott and Tommy Danvers. What many people don't know about these two is that they are unofficially members of the boy band One Direction. Jamie Scott is the guy responsible for writing a lot of One Direction's big hits and romantic ballads. He really is the sixth member of One Direction, or should I say fifth member now? Either way, we already have a taste of Jamie Scott's lyrical talent, and see even more of it with his work with Graffiti6. Today's first song is by a music act called Radical Face. What I love about this artist, album, and song is the complete unique quality behind it. Each song in the album has a special story since each song tells the story of a house and what happened in them. This is a concept that I fell in love with because it is something that hasn't been done much in the music scope. The entire album tells a story, and tells us a story of passion and love and sadness. The story that the album tells is one that is a bit quirky, but is also something that we can all relate to. Now I am not going to tell you what I understood from the story because everyone understands the story a little differently. Everyone interprets the story in their own way.
