Felix Cartal and Bassjackers & MAKJ

Image
Today I have some more electronic music. This first song is by an electronic artist who seems to enjoy staying out of the huge spotlight. Felix Cartal is one of my favorite DJ's right now. His music is really fresh and very different in comparison to a lot of the vocal electronic tracks that are being pumped out by the industry. Felix Cartal takes time with his tracks, but that is also the reason we get awesome songs like this. The vocalist in this song is of course phenomenal, as are all EDM vocalists. But what really catches you is the drop after each run of the chorus. That adjoining instrumental part of the chorus is just banging! There is so much energy in this song and this is one that makes you want to let loose and go crazy. And lets be honest, that is the best kind of dancing This is a song that evokes that crazy, giving no care to what others think, kind of dancing. Felix Cartal is an artist who really makes the music his own. A lot of big name artists can sound simi...

Keys N Krates and Knife Party

Image
Today I have some music for you by Keys N Krates. I have not posted a lot of music by them which is kind of bad on my part because as far as trap groups go, Keys N Krates is pretty freaking dope. This song just kind of gets you in this wild and crazy mood. When I hear this I feel the need to go crazy on the dance floor because why the hell not? The first drop we hear is already pretty sick, and then when we get to the main drop, we get this mix of trap and a little bit of trance which seems like it would be totally weird, but it works so well with this song. This song is a different step for Keys N Krates who usually put out these intense and hardcore trap songs, but this definitely has elements of a more ambient kind of song. I like that though, despite the fact that I love Keys N Krates' normal hard trap stuff. This song features a lot more synth work and less heavy percussion. This song is just too good and I can't get enough of it! Today's instrumental song is some more...

One Direction and Graffiti6

Image
Today I have music for you by the biggest boy band in the world. There is a lot of talk with One Direction, some people liking them, some people disliking them, and a handful of strangely obsessed people. Now I must tell you guys the truth, I did not start out as someone who listened to One Direction. However, I have grown to like them a lot. With the passing of each album, One Direction has matured from being the stereotypical adolescent boy band to a group that has some really nice adult contemporary music and a group that has a nice and mature sound. What is even nicer about this group is that you can clearly hear the progression of each individual singer and you can hear how each of them have improved. To me that is a good sign, because a group that is willing to improve upon something that is already a worldwide sensation shows me that there are even greater things to come. Now this song is off their latest album titled Four. I guess it is practical considering this is the fourth...

Cricket World Cup

Image
OKAY today is such a big day in the world of sports for pretty much the entire Eastern Hemisphere. Why, you may ask? Because the cricket world cup occurred last night and was pretty much awesome. For those of you who don't really know what cricket is, it is one of the biggest sports worldwide. Sadly, America has not really gotten into cricket, but decided to create baseball instead. Baseball is very much based on how cricket is played. Cricket is played with a bowler which is similar to what a pitcher is, and a batsman with the remaining players as "fielders" of sorts. Cricket is a long game, I can't deny it. But it is quite the game, and cricket matches can be so much fun, especially when people get all riled up. But in honor of the Cricket World Cup, I have to play some music from the teams that were up against each other. This year, the contenders were India and Pakistan. AND INDIA WON!! Of course this was super exciting for me, and I thought some nice celebratory ...

Eminem and Childish Gambino

Today I have the rap world within the Grammys for you. Now the winner of the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration is by the one and only Eminem. Now of course Eminem is absolutely phenomenal and I feel like there is not much else to say about this song! It seems like a lot of people know about this song and it is not necessarily imperative to further analyze this. It is ridiculously catchy and super good. Rihanna and Eminem are a very good collaborating duo in both production and musical sound. Today's second song is by the one and only, Childish Gambino. His album was nominated for Best Rap Album and this song in particular was nominated for Best Rap Performance. I actually love this song by Childish Gambino. He is extremely clever with his lyrics and is quite funny at times as well. Childish Gambino doesn't rap about arbitrary topics like a lot of other rappers do, and he knows how to work his words so that they get his message across while still being very catchy. I hope you enjoy th...

Get On Up: The James Brown Story and The Grand Budapest Hotel

Image
Today I am indeed continuing with the Grammy trend. But today, I have the film awards taken care of. This first song is form and album that was nominated as the Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media. Long title, I know. However, this category consisted of some wonderful music. Now this song that I chose is the one song that I hadn't really heard much about. This song comes from the movie Get On Up: The James Brown Story. Now, I am a huge fan of James Brown. Talk about a guy who knew how to sing and put on a show and prove to the world that everything is possible. I have not seen this movie yet but I am dying to see it! This movie is a biography, but like the kind of music it features, this film has soul. There is so much more to this film than being a typical historic film. This song features so many incredible song renditions and Chadwick Boseman sounds so phenomenal as James Brown. Now in the movie, he did perform the songs, but the Godfather of Soul's voice was dubbed...
