Get On Up: The James Brown Story and The Grand Budapest Hotel

Today I am indeed continuing with the Grammy trend. But today, I have the film awards taken care of. This first song is form and album that was nominated as the Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media. Long title, I know. However, this category consisted of some wonderful music. Now this song that I chose is the one song that I hadn't really heard much about. This song comes from the movie Get On Up: The James Brown Story. Now, I am a huge fan of James Brown. Talk about a guy who knew how to sing and put on a show and prove to the world that everything is possible. I have not seen this movie yet but I am dying to see it! This movie is a biography, but like the kind of music it features, this film has soul. There is so much more to this film than being a typical historic film. This song features so many incredible song renditions and Chadwick Boseman sounds so phenomenal as James Brown. Now in the movie, he did perform the songs, but the Godfather of Soul's voice was dubbed over the Chadwick Boseman's voice. But just from this scene alone, I can feel the energy and excitement and greatness that is packed into this movie. This song has hardcore soul to it and is just so much fun. It makes you get on up, so to speak. It will be so hard for you to not want to dance and sing and relish in the funky soul that James Brown brings to us. Chadwick Boseman captures the energy and soul and life of James Brown. He has the funk and the spirit and brings James Brown to life. Today's second song is actually an instrumental! This score was nominated and won for Best Score Soundtrack For Visual Media. I can't lie, I absolutely love this score. There is something so sweet and adorable and almost comedic about this score. For those of you who have not seen The Grand Budapest Hotel, I highly recommend you see it. This song is such a phenomenal musical description of the movie. It has the slight dorkiness that the main character has and the song also has that comedic aspect to it which is exactly like the movie. This song has that liveliness and stereotypical Eastern European sound which, again, is perfect for this movie. This score is just so well done that I can't even begin to describe how absolutely fitting this song is for the movie. It is one of those things where you watch the music and hear this and cannot think of a better background to the wild adventures that occur in the movie. This score is simply a masterpiece, full of brightness and life and excitement. I am thoroughly pleased with the fact that it won the Grammy. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
