Keeping It Fresh

Today, I have music from one of my favorite bands-Anberlin. This song has an amazing blend of hard rock and indie rock, with some orchestral music thrown in. This song just flows so well together and was masterfully finished. I can't begin to describe the complexity of feelings in this song. I don't know why, but I find it to be very moving; the lyrics and melodies are just so perfect. It goes from being a calm, lovely song to having guitar riffs and amazing drum action. I sincerely hope you enjoy this song because it IS incredible. Anberlin is definitely a band worth checking out! Today's instrumental-ish song comes from the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. You can call me whatever you want, but this trilogy is one of the best the world has and will ever see. Today's music is an interesting mix of rock and R&B. This musical collaboration includes one of my favorites groups, The Black Keys. This song, and the whole album, has a cool tone that is almost like jazz. However it has enough rock and hip hop to separate itself from anything else I have heard. The rough tones of the Black Keys mixes so well with the smooth feel of hip hop. I really hope you enjoy this song, and you should definitely check out this album because it is entertaining and unique! Today's instrumental song of the day is some Hip Hop Jazz, which is a genre of music, believe it or not. This song has more of the laid back aspects of both hip hop and jazz. Today's song is kind of a mix of electro and indie. Florence Welch has done a few songs with the Scottish DJ, Calvin Harris. This song is amazing because it mixes Florence's powerful vocals and Calvin Harris's skill. I love the chorus melodies from both artist, and the song is so catchy! Today's instrumental song of the day is  by Swedish House Mafia. There are two versions of this song, an instrumental and another featuring Tinie Tempah. This song has such a fun beat and sound to it! Maybe it is just me, or its late, but I find this song to be so exciting! Hopefully you will too. Today I have some dance/house music. This song is by Kaskade, but is really interesting because it includes a rock group-Neon Trees. I thought the vocal tone matched so well with the beat and feel of the song. This song has the intensity of a rock group mixed with the energy of house music. It also has the deeper, more powerful bass to it which makes this song so much more brilliant! I think this song turned out so incredibly well! Today's instrumental song is by Benny Benassi. This song has the typical format of an electro/house song, but Benassi makes it unique by playing with different octaves and crescendos (that is my cello-playing knowledge coming through) I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

So today's song is by a band that has become more popular lately-The Script. I remember the first time I heard them was when their first album came out, and I absolutely fell in love with them. Choosing a song from their new album was really hard because they are all so incredible. Apparently this album has received mixed to negative reviews, but I would love to disagree with those critics. This album showcases every style The Script has tried, but it is also more soulful and inspiring. This song in particular has an upbeat sound with smooth, moving vocals and lyrics. This song has beautiful harmonies between the instruments and vocals. Go listen to the rest of the album and let me know what you think of it! Today's instrumental song is by Caspian. Today I really wanted to post this song because I hear it almost every day, and when I ask people about this song, they often have no idea what I am talking about. This song is by hip hop/R&B artist, Miguel. I was reading about this song and it turns out that it was inspired by a dream he had...thats kind of brilliant! The vocals are really smooth and the song has contemporary rhythms that make it catchy and chill at the same time. Today's instrumental song of the day is pretty amazing! If you have nice speakers, turn the bass way up because this beat is sweet. The bass is deeper so the awesome piano work really sticks out. I can totally imagine Eminem doing a song to this...It is a more calming beat but still keeps you in the R&B/hip hop mood. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!    

Today I was feeling some rock music today, so I present to you a song by the amazing band 30 Seconds to Mars. Not going to lie, the lead singer is pretty darn attractive...anyway, this song is from their new album This Is War. It is a mix of synth rock, metal, and some progressive rock. The lyrics are fantastic and the melodies are quite moving. Even if you don't like this song as much, I really hope you go check out the rest of the album because it kicks some serious ass! Today's instrumental piece is by the group God Is An Astronaut. This song has nothing to do with God or religion if that makes you uneasy. I love how this song starts calmly and then increases in intensity and focus as the song progresses. It kind of follows the way the first song becomes intense.
