Kasbo & Keiyan Lonsdale and Jai Wolf

Today I have a nice and smooth sailing song for you out of Australia. Now this song is one that I stumbled upon while perusing through Spotify, and it is quite the gem.

As a lot of you know, the whole beachy and tropical sound has made a major surge into the spotlight. It seems like so many artists are taking on this idea of summer vibes and infusing it with dance music. What is so great about this particular sound, is that each artist has their own flavor and style. Even though a lot of these songs exist within the same genre, they all sound different, but never lose sight of that bright and vivacious sound.

This song is part of that special group of music. This song features the wonderful production of Kasbo and Keiynan Lonsdale. This song is a sweet combination of Swedish and Australian talent, coming together to create a wonderfully euphoric song. This is just such a feel good song that you can't really get enough. Kasbo does a really good job of finding that fine balance between the vocals and the background instrumentals. There is enough production put into the vocals to where we get these subtle effects going on, but not too much to where the song takes away from the vocals. Kasbo gives this a nice energetic kick as well, coming in on a tempo that is great for chilling or dancing. Kasbo also opts into using more "instruments" in this song, relying on what sounds like actual drum beats which have been sampled. Not only does he use traditional drum work, he throws in some tribal drums as well which adds so much character to the song. Interestingly enough, when the chorus hits we don't really get this "drum" sound at all. We get all these synth layers that are stacked on top of each other so that the deeper and richer lines can support the main tropical melody line. Kasbo clearly is very careful about how he creates and weaves his music, as this song shows us. There are so many little nuances, like when he switches from keyboard and synth mode to piano and then back, that are included in this song which makes it unique.

Keiyan Lonsdale offers us his vocal capacity and it works very well with this song. He has a bit of a higher voice which works very well for this style. His voice can be easily manipulated and molded to fit the specific sound that Kasbo is going for on this track. Keiyan Lonsdale throws more of a pop vibe into this song which helps make this song more of a danceable track. His vocal work on this song really makes the whole track feel complete because there is so much substance there. Kasbo produced this song around lyrics and around a voice. So having Keiyan Lonsdale provide his silky smooth and warm voice is absolutely perfect in creating that comforting beach and summer vibe. This is just one of those feel good songs that we can all use every so often.

Today's instrumental song is by Jai Wolf. This is an artist who has started to really pop up around the more popular electronic scenes, and I am so glad that he is. Jai Wolf has such a charismatic presence both in his music and stage, and we get to hear that eclectic and endearing persona every time his tracks plays. This is one of what I would call his "side" projects. This style of music is and isn't what he is known for all at once. Strange I know. But Jai Wolf is known for his transcendent and enchanting and almost magical kinds of sounds. If anyone could show us what twinkling stars sound like, it would be him. That stylistic element is so hard to grasp into words, but upon hearing this song, you will know exactly what I mean by that. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
