Martin Garrix and Troye Sivan

Today I've got some more new music for you by a DJ who became a worldwide sensation in such a short time. Martin Garrix has been an absolute monster in the music world. His music has been tearing up the charts, from his initial releases to now. And this new song by Martin Garrix definitely falls into that chart-busting category.

Martin Garrix changes his sound up in this song and takes a future bass approach, which I think is a great direction to go in. We get something that is softer and warmer from the music, instead of your typical louder and bass heavy electronic songs. This one airs on the side of being atmospheric and full of sound. It isn't about filling empty air with sound, rather, Martin Garrix tries to purposefully fill the air he has with carefully constructed sounds. He crafts the song very consciously in order to tell the story that the lyricists come up with. The structure of this song is centered on emotive storylines and moody synths to accompany.Martin Garrix puts in these quirky and catchy riffs throughout the song which adds so much flavor to this pop-leaning track. Yes, I would go as far to say that this song could be a precursor to Martin Garrix's pop production. A lot of DJs take that route, and as long as they can keep being creative, it doesn't matter. Thankfully, Martin Garrix does keep it creative and fresh. His calmer and soothing take has made this a song that is almost vulnerable as well. Something we don't really hear much of in the EDM world. The bubbly beat and danceable hook bring the musicality of the song together.

Troye Sivan is one who makes this song complete with his vocals. He has been a little quiet since his latest tour finished, but it looks like we are going to hear more from him soon! This song with Martin Garrix is such a perfect style for Troye Sivan's light and airy vocals. The feel good rhythm is further highlighted by the way Troye Sivan manipulates his voice around the rhythm. He has an endearing and lovely voice which doesn't come across as not having enough substance, nor does it have an overly aggressive sound to it. The vulnerable vocals we get here are stunningly great for the chilled out vibe we get from Martin Garrix's production. The feelsy summer anthem has a great flavor added by Troye Sivan's voice. It's also a bit interesting to have a male vocalist on the track. A majority of the time, electronic music features female vocals. The male vocals add a completely different texture to the song in a way that is really adorable and refreshing. Emotionally charged lyrics and bouncy electronic production complete this song, giving us one of the big songs of the summer. I am really excited to see what Martin Garrix does from here. Hopefully, he will keep experimenting with his pop-oriented music and gives us another song that is just as wonderful as this one.

Today's instrumental song had to be off Troye Sivan's debut album. While the overall tone of the first song made it a great backdrop for Troye Sivan's vocals, there is a certain kind of sound that the vocalist has. And it isn't too different from that we see today. Martin Garrix was able to capture that sound perfectly, but I wanted to give you all a taste of what Troye Sivan sounds like. Synth driven melodies with steady but varied rhythm and soft bass is a simple breakdown of the kind of music we get from Troye Sivan. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
