Vicetone and Zedd

Today I have some awesome music for you from the electronic duo known as Vicetone. One of the characteristics of Vicetone that I love is that they are masters at producing and remixing. Not to say other DJ's cannot. But Vicetone has this incredible creativity woven into their music that I cannot shake. This song is probably my absolute favorite example of their creativity.Vicetone decides to feature an incredibly important man, one who will go down in history because of the amazing things he accomplished. Ladies and gentleman, today I am bringing you a song that has taken a President speech and made it musical verses. As odd as that may seem, Vicetone makes it work really well. To open the song, they have inserted the beginning of one of Obama's speeches. The intro is a little bit longer, but this particular part of Obama's speech sets the song up and the title incredibly well. Vicetone then softly brings in the main rhythmic melody of the song. It flanks Obama's speech to where we can still hear the rhythm, but are still able to hear and listen to the speech. After which, Vicetone lets the drop go and we get a nice house sound which is full of energy. The melody of the main chorus works really well with the title name, as it is a bit more inspirational than most. The song's melody gets pretty repetitive after, however, what keeps the song dynamic is the interspersed messages by Obama. Now, I kind of wanted to take a more in depth look as to why this song is actually pretty powerful. From the song title alone, we know that this song is one that is supposed to be energizing and uplifting and inspirational. The extent to which this happens is exponentially great. Not only do we get these feelings from the music, we also get it from the words we hear being spoken. This song is just as much about message as it is about music. In my opinion, this song is actually a little bit more about the message and the words of the song rather than the music. A lot of times, we get music which is more focused on how pleasurable the sound is to the ear, however, Vicetone forgoes this thought process. They purposefully choose the pieces and parts of the speech which are meaningful and great. They tell us a story with this song and the music becomes a secondary part of the overall sound. This style of music is so rarely seen, but Vicetone did a seamless and smooth job of this. The way the words and speech fade into the music, which then fades back into the words is simply amazing. There is something really special about the way Vicetone makes their music because there is always this upbeat and fun and genuinely feel good kind of vibe. This song really does live up to its title name, and Vicetone has done an incredible job of incorporating two different mediums to make the music. Today's instrumental song is by the very well-known DJ, Zedd. When I heard the first song, I was weirdly reminded of this song by Zedd and decided they could compliment each other well. This song has a lot of energy and an upbeat kind of attitude. What is nice about Zedd's song is that it has moments where things slow down, and then grow into this explosion of sound and energy. There is something that is so incredibly soul-filling about that, and Zedd's music has been able to capture that special kind of sound. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
