Cosmo's Midnight and Passion Pit

Today I have a fun song for you by the artist known as Cosmo's Midnight. This is one of those bubbly feel good songs, but still has a nice relaxed lounge sound. This is a light hearted and almost topical sounding son, and I love the way everything is kept nice and soft. There aren't heavy beats or heavy synth melodies, just a nice overall calm to the instrumentals. This is the kind of song that gets you thinking about the most ideal and fun place to be. Whether you are alone or with other people, this song makes you reminisce for a really good time or makes you imagine a moment that is purely for you. This song has a really chilled out kind of funk to it, making it one of those songs that gets your dancing vibes in. A summery anthem, there is a lot of uplifting sound to it and an overall feel good kind of vibe. The lyrics are also really cute, a modern day love story for the romantics out there. All together you have the adorable love story and the seriously smooth beats in the background. There is also a lot of keyboard and synth work in this song, driving the melody. That is probably where most of the emphasis would be, but the way the keyboard melodies are done, they still aren't heavy hitting. Even they have a nice softness to them, making it perfect for a summery and sunny day. There is a little bit of an 80's groove to this song, which makes it that much livelier and exciting. Again, this is not a song that is very energetic and hype, but still has so much vivacity and happy energy that you can't help but feel the infectious groove. In a way, the entire style of the song really reminds me of another band, Passion Pit. But Cosmo's Midnight is my favorite discovery from the Australian underground, and their music is something that I really enjoy. There is a genuine excitement and contagiously fun element to their music, and that is something that I really appreciate and almost admire. A lot of times the underground scene doesn't feature the more upbeat kind of music, but this song is nothing but upbeat and enjoyable. Today's instrumental song just had to be by the band mentioned earlier- Passion Pit. This is a band that is legitimately a band. They use guitars and drums and a whole plethora of instruments. But one of the things that Passion Pit does flawlessly well, is combining and fusing the electronic and programmable music with the organic movements and melodies of the real instruments. There is such a beautiful balance between these two styles of music, and Passion Pit is one of a rare few who have mastered this. Now Passion Pit often gets associated with just indie rock or pop, but there is so much more to that genre and style of music than most people understand. And I would say, Passion Pit is just a band that knows how to make fantastic music. So I am happy to post there wonderful music on here! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
