SoMo and Nick Jonas

Today I have some music for you by the artist SoMo. Now SoMo is a singer songwriter from Texas (represent!) and sounds nothing like the stereotypical Texan artist. For those of you who are expecting some twangy country and banjo music, you will be quite disappointed by what you hear today. Or are maybe a little relieved that it isn't that kind of music? Either way, this song does not have your typical music sound at all. SoMo is and R&B and soul singer, something that we don't necessarily hear from the Texan crowd. But I am a huge fan of that expansion and desire to push outside the boundaries. Now getting to the actual song, the first thing I have to point out, is how completely and utterly sexy an electric guitar can sound when it is playing riffs through a muffled filter. We get to hear those riffs and note changes, but it is slurred in a way, muffled up so that you cannot tell when one note clearly ends and another begins. And that kind of fluidity adds such a sensual and sexy feeling. Of course, this song is meant to be a bit naught and feisty, but this song and the way that SoMo sings these songs, thee is an immediate attraction that happens. It doesn't take much, but it makes that lasting impression. So I guess my first piece of advice to that is to make sure you don't five you a lot to stuff to carry around, but it seems wort it when you get to see how far everyone has come. I will have to say, there is not much room or wiggling as a second year summer employee. But SoMo doesn't really need that information does he. SoMo has this voice that is like honey or molasses, really firm and stronger and forget about the need the move it. SoMo has the kind of voice that would sound the same in either city or all cities or us view. I mean his voice just screams R&B and a sexy kind as well. It can be easy to artists that go along the sexier sides of music, so I only listen to that when I am coming back from campus. But this song has so much sex appeal in it, even aside from the other classes I am taking. This song features a lot of those hip hop beats, the kind that add a little energy to the song, but are mainly there or simplicity purposes. The snare drum does make an appearance and the singing and vocalization during the bridge chorus features a really nice melody and harmony. Throughout most of the song though, we get to hear SoMo showcase his vocals and sing this heart out with all the smooth silkiness that is his voice. I mean this is one that you could get lost to, especially if you are listening with a significant other. This song is just a feel good and sexy song, the kind that you would not mind listening to at any time of the day. Today's instrumental song is a song by Nick Jonas. This is another one of those artists who was part of their contracted band, went on hiatus, and came back strong. Nick Jonas, in this case, came back and sent us some music along the R&B route of things. I personally think this style is something that fits his voice well and allows him to explore more in the R&B world. So this is one of my favorite songs by him, and the instrumental captures the great scale slides he does. This is definitely a song you have to listen to at some point! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
