Kids of 88 and The Naked & Famous

Today I have music from a duo called Kids of 88. This group has done a phenomenal job with this song. It can be something you chill to, dance to, or work out to. This song has such a great beat and the melodies have this unique type of energy that really gets the blood running. The sound is just so awesome and addictive! There is a lot of energy to this song, but not in an intense electronic way. This song has a very cat walk sound to it, a sound that makes you want to strut your stuff wherever you go. It kind of makes you feel like a boss, doing your own thing and making your presence known to the world. I don't know why, but this song fills me with this incredible confidence that is borderline caulkiness, and is also a weirdly seductive sounding song. This is the kind of song that would make me want to flirt dangerously so, but words wouldn't be needed. It is all about the actions and facial expressions. But this song showcases Kids of 88's ability to seamlessly combine electronic elements with your normal band instruments. We do hear a lot more synth work with this song, but we also get a lot of that traditional percussion work. What is really cool about this song is that while it is a very dance oriented song, there are these intense pulses throughout that make it more of a power jam. I mean when you break down the instruments, we get a lot more along the lines of synthesizers, keyboards, drums, and drum pads. The ingredients necessary to make a great dance single. But for me, listening to this song doesn't necessarily make me want to dance the way I would at a club. It makes me want to turn on more of the sexy and fierce side of things, showing the world who the boss really is. The song writing is pretty clever and witty as well, making it something suitable to driving around to or bouncing around to in the club. I've got to hand it to Kids of 88. For this being one of their first dropped singles ever, they totally nailed it. I mean I can listen to this song over and over again and still feel like I'm on top of the world. This is a duo that is definitely worth looking into. Today's instrumental song is by The Naked and Famous. They haven't put out new music in a while, but when they first came out, I was all over their music. Their sound is very distinct and very unique. There is a sense of organized chaos with their music. Sometimes there is a sense of control on the way their music sounds, and sometimes it sounds deliberately haphazard. I kind of like that though. It reminds me of spontaneity and what it is like to not always know what is about to happen next. This is another fantastic band, one worth listening to!
