Adele and Batman Begins

Today I have music for you by an artist who has recently made a huge comeback after being under the radar for a few years. This song is one of the most popular songs out right now, but I felt the need to post it because of how beautifully done it is. Adele has an incredibly special and emotional voice. When she performs for recordings and for live performances, her voice is just as strong and vulnerable, just as powerful and punctuated. Adele has one of the most incredible voices I have heard. She is able to pour her emotions into her voice and can easily alternate between a belting and powerhouse verse to something soft and gentle. Her voice is one that leaves me speechless sometimes because of how many chills I get by listening to it. This song is one of those lovelorn ballads that made Adele so famous. It has that depth and darkness to it that somehow makes us fall in love with the music. There is this brilliant simplicity to the song as well. There is really just a piano for a majority of the song. A piano and well placed echoes to punctuate and accentuate certain words and phrases. There isn't a huge climax, a super heavy drop or anything like that. I actually love the way the high point in the song was handled. It is this just the right amount of added percussion and orchestral instruments to create this great swell that is reigned in just enough to be kept tame. It slowly builds up, but never gets wild and explosive. Adele has mastered the art of pushing hte emotional buttons to their most, and then pulling back. My favorite part is actually at the supposed "climax" because the percussion comes in with such power and it supports Adele's voice so well. This song is a wonderful exhibition of the level of vocal control and restraint Adele has. Her voice is one that really does require some control, especially with the grace notes and glissandos she throws into her music. But it is one that is so warmly molded into a work of art, one that is emotionally stable but vulnerable, so the issues are all reflected in the lyrics of her songs. Adele has this magical ability to create the right song for the right mood. She makes us believe the words she is singing. We actually feel what it is like to fall in love and have them break your heart. And that is such a gift and moving experience. I am actually so happy and excited to hear her entire new album! Today's instrumental song is from the movie Batman Begins. This is the main theme of the song, but it something that is absolutely beautiful and moving. Music has this incredible power of really making you feel things you can't put into words. This piece was so well composed and that is why we couldn't pull ourselves away. We felt the pain of losing so many people, we feel the pain of losing people we love. And this song does that emotion justice. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
