Wisin Y Yandel, Chris Brown, & T Pain and J Rabbit

Today I have music for you by one of my favorite Latin artists/duos, Wisin y Yandel. This song is probably my favorite one by them for a multitude of reasons. First, this song has a sick beat and an awesome melody. It retains that traditional Latin sound with the pipes but also integrates the more modern electronic and bass sound to it. Second, this song is a phenomenal dance song. Seriously. This song comes on and no one can stay still. If you are like me, you dance quietly in your room and if anyone ever walked in they would immediately leave or laugh because I go hard. But even in public, I have to sway a little or head bang, and of course I mouth the lyrics all the time. Which brings me to the next point. This song brilliantly fuses English R&B and rap with the Latin style of music. A lot of people do fusions now, but when this song came out, I had never heard anything better than this. Even today I think this is one of the best fusions I have heard. This song is just so vivacious and energetic. It makes you want to get up and move on your own accord. Chris Brown fits in very well as the vocalist in this song because he himself has quite a few songs of similar caliber. Chris Brown has this sexiness to his voice that only an R&B singer can get, and with a song that is created the way this one is, that suave sound is exactly what is needed to create a good balance. Chris Brown's verse is also a very nice English touch to the meaning of the Spanish lyrics. Instead of providing a simple translation of the Spanish verses, Chris Brown continues the story in a way. He doesn't explicitly give a translation of the words, but gives us a different way of understanding. The Spanish verses basically say that there is something about this woman they've seen that is spectacular and different. Chris Brown gives us that same message but in different words. This seamless continuation adds this great flow to the song. Wisin y Yandel really know how to produce a song that is catchy, danceable, and fun. I really love all of their music for this reason and the fact that it is a pretty progressive style of Latin music. If you enjoy this kind of music I highly recommend you go listen to the rest of their music because it is just as good and really spans the Latin-English spectrum. Today's instrumental song is by the DJ known as J Rabbit. This is a remix of a song, but it is one of my favorite remixes ever. It has that light hearted and fun nature of the cute salsa and then drops into this wicked beat. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
