Black Pistol Fire and The Black Keys
Today I have music for you that is that suave kind of boss song. There are songs that make you feel like the most fly person in the world, the kind of songs that make you want to swagger around the streets. And then there are songs that really make you feel like a boss. These are the songs that make you feel really tall and powerful because they have this weirdly sophisticated suave sound to them. Today's song is more the latter. This song is by the band Black Pistol Fire. This is definitely a song that is not well known, nor is it a band that is very popular. Which is kind of a sad thing, but then again, that also kind of allows them to keep doing their own thing which I really like. This is a song that takes some blues music and turns it into this wicked rock kind of sound. This is a song that uses a lot of guitar work, and a lot of deeper guitar work. This is a band that is comprised of a scratchy guitar and drum solos which I can totally dig. This a more stripped down kind of blues rock, but with and added ferocity and aggressiveness. This band and song in general have this throwback kind of sound, something that is a little bit like old school punk mixed with very old school vocals. I really like the vocalization in this song because it has this older and rougher touch to them. There is this slight rasp and grit to the voice that makes it a perfect compliment to the more fierce blues sound. This heavier rock and blues song is one that really makes you feel like you walk in and own the place. I am not going to lie, I absolutely love that feeling. I know that is possibly a bad thing, but holy hell this is the kind of song I would use as a pump up song for something like a job interview or something like that. This is a song that catalyzes my level of confidence and makes it skyrocket. It has that harder sound to it, the kind of sound that calls out to the inner bad ass. This song is used in a few television shows, but the one I think it fits in best with was when it was used in Suits. Man this song combined with the acting and characters in that show make it absolutely phenomenal. Today's instrumental song is by The Black Keys. This is one of their best songs in my opinion and of course, one of my favorites. This song is bursting with energy and that hardcore drum work makes this a thumping and bumping song. It has that kind of beat that lifts you up and makes you want to do something kind of awesome. The drum work in this song is absoluetly fantastic and it is what drives the majority of this song. Especially since this is a song where most of the dynamism comes from the vocals, the drums become even more important. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
