Today's song is by Trey Songz. This song is so catchy and he really sings it well. It is a heartbreak song, but the tune is so amazing and I really love the way he ranges the vocals. I have to warn you now though, there are some explicit words so its your decision to listen to this or not. But Trey Songz is one of those artists who has immense potential to become extremely famous, but most of his work focuses on the love of music. To me, his music is more about experiencing and feeling the music for what it is and what it means. This song is about heartbreak, and the way Trey Songz sings this, with so much passion and pain, you really feel the sadness. Trey Songz is a very talented singer and can hit some really high notes. Actually, the first real singing notes we hear from him are high pitched and sustained notes. He sings these notes with so much power and it is a very solid note. Trey Songz was gifted with a great R&B voice and he is able to pull out the sadder, more soulful parts of that genre. What I find kind of interesting is the fact that this was a Grammy nominated song for best R&B song, yet not many people have heard this song before. Some of the things that make this song very Grammy worthy is first of all, the quality of singing. Not only can he sing like this for recordings, but Trey Songz can also do this live. For me, that makes a huge difference. Another key component is that he effectively uses vocal layering to do his own harmonies and add flairs in certain parts of the song. Trey Songz keeps the lyrics simple, but he fills them and sells the meaning through the raw emotion he expresses. He talks about the hand in hand pain and pleasure of really being in love which is a phenomenal deviation from the usual subject matter. Moments in the song consist of Trey Songz belting. Not singing. Belting his heart out. And it is wonderful. This song also comprises mainly of drum beats. The beat relies heavily on the bass drum, as they give a nice pounding thud to the song. This, along with the mid-tempo style, gives the song a tone that sets up for the soaring notes Trey Songz sings. This song was so well written, composed, and produced. I have to say, this is Trey Songz's best work yet. Today's instrumental song is an instrumental version of a song by Jordin Sparks. She seems to be another incredible artist who has been out of the spotlight. This is one of m favorite songs by her because it adds this calm brightness to the topic of love.
