Parachute and Pirates of The Caribbean

Today I have music by the band Parachute. This band has a very pop punk sound to it which is something that hasn't come out in a long time. The era of punk bands passed a while ago so it is nice to hear something that goes back to punk roots. It is fantastic that Parachute began as a punk group and evolved into the sound you hear today. This song has this easy, carefree sound to it which is consistent with some of Parachute's older music. Wil Anderson has an absolutely phenomenal voice. He sounds good in both the recordings and live which is always a fantastic skill to have. Wil Anderson has a very dynamic voice that can change from a deep sound to a higher pitched one and he also sprinkles in some voice cracks as well. This song is fun and energetic and is one that you can be caught tapping your feet to. This song is very percussion and beat oriented. The opening mainly features the drums and keyboard synths. The guitar doesn't make much of an impression in this song which is actually kind of nice! This is a little bit more mainstream with the use of more electronic aspects, but it still maintains its rock elements with the heavy drum beat. The way Wil Anderson sings also contributes to the rock nature of the song as well. The way he makes glissandos with his voice is absolutely phenomenal and there is a little bit more grit to this song than normal. Johnny Stubblefield makes a great addition to the song as a drummer because the beats serve as the basis of the song. Yes, the drum beat does normally serve as the backbones of every song, but this song relies on the drums a lot more. With a song that is percussion heavy, the drums, synths, and keyboards become that much more important. Parachute's new album is really awesome and this song is a great summary of how it sounds. This isn't an album or song that would normally appeal to a large audience, but there is this breezy and laid back feel to it. I have to say, the only thing that I wish was in the song is a little bit more saxophone, but hey, we can't always get what we want. This song serves as an example of the evolution that Parachute has made and I really like it. This is a band that is really worth checking out further! Today's instrumental song is from the movie Pirates of The Caribbean. I know this is a very well known soundtrack, but it seemed like an appropriate fit for the previous song. There is that spry energy to it that makes both of them so much fun to listen to. The main chorus theme has such a liveliness and raw energy to it which never gets old. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
