Linkin Park and Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Today was quite the exciting one because I went to the Linkin Park Carnivores Tour concert! Let me tell you, there is nothing that comes even slightly close to the epicness that is Linkin Park. And they sound even more bad ass live. This is a band who is really in it for the music and loves what they do. You can tell by the way they perform and by the way Chester Bennington belts out those verses with screams unlike anything I have ever heard. Chester Bennington has a scream like no other and it sounds so strong and powerful and wild live. If you think it sounds good in a recorded song, wait till you hear it live because then you really get to experience how wonderfully powerful his voice is. His transitions between singing and screaming are absolutely flawless as well. He transitions between them so well that we never hear the other style cross into the other. There are some points when he purposely adds grit and gravel to his singing voice but he never falls into one or the other. The rapper and guitarist and second main guy in the band is Mike Shinoda. Mike Shinoda is another extremely talented guy. You can hear him in this song as the guy who does the synth work and vocal harmonies. His talents lie all over the place from playing guitar, to programming music, to being a freaking incredible rapper. No one can pull of rap rock quite like Linkin Park. Even after 20 years of being together, this band is still full of surprises and never fails to knock my socks off. They recently put out a new album which really goes back to their grunge roots. It is quite spectacular because even after that experimenting phase and after all this time they have still got it. They still have the energy, the darkness, the raw grit and rough tones. The instrumentalists in this band are still unbeatable in their epicness and talent and have an interaction that you don't really hear from any other band. Every instrument is perfectly in sync with the other and there is not a situation in which one outshines the other. This band is just perfect in pretty much everything they do and this song today is off their new album. While it did sound way better live, I can't deny you the sweet opportunity to get a taste of their album. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Captain America: Winter Soldier. This movie score actually has a lot in common with the music of Linkin Park. It is very rock influence and has this epic nature to it which suits both items perfectly. Linkin Park is also a band that is very much into support of our troops and has done quite a few songs that have soldiers as the focal point. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
