Kaiser Chiefs and The Killers

Today I have music for you by an older band out of Leeds called Kaiser Chiefs. This song is reminiscent of the style of The Beatles. This song in particular has a clear influence of The Beatles in my opinion. But it is such a fantastic song in terms of Kaiser Chiefs' originality and unique sound. It has been a long time since we have heard a song like this come out into the music scene. Though this song is seven years old, I am trying to make it comeback. Or at least have it featured on a throwback Thursday type thing. There is a simplicity in the lyrics that somehow makes the idea of the song stick even more. For a break up song, this song has a little bit more bounce than is usually expected, but this small level of pep makes this song even better. I think it adds something more to the chorus and sets this song apart from a lot of rock bands that kind of follow this style. And of course, the chorus itself is self explanatory as to what these guys are asking and whom they are asking. The melody of the chorus reminds me of a lot of older rock bands, and this song is one that I could imagine being played at a festival like Woodstock. There is a really interesting use of the keyboards to mirror the electric guitar and it adds a nice little support to the guitar melody. I can see why this song was such a smash hit! Its is as if The Beatles and The Killers came together and made Kaiser Chiefs. This band has clear influences of other bands and is clearly an original band. Well now speaking of The Killers, today's instrumental song is by them! Talk about a band that really knows how to make music, The Killers are such an iconic group with easily recognizable style. There is something about Brandon Flowers' vocals that really brings the music to life. With this song you can hear which characteristics of The Killers are heard in the first song. The Killers are not only a band, but legends and activists which makes them even greater. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
