Today's song is by the alternative rock band from Los Angeles, Weezer. This song has a good pop beat with a rock sound. This is one of Weezer's later songs, but it still has the rock elements from their previous work. Rivers Cuomo of course sings really well and I really like some of the off key unison singing because it expresses the band's personality well. Today's instrumental song is definitely mellower and slower moving than Weezer's song, but I still really like it. It is by a band called Hammock, so go check them out! Kongos and Beastie Boys
Today's song is a really cool one out of South Africa by the band Kongos. There are so many awesome things happening in this song. For example the first sounds you hear is this really sick accordion work, and yes, these guys made the accordion look even cooler than any other musician out there has. I love the way they use the accordion and the tone of it. And then you hit the chorus which has these really strong vocals and you get the feel from the multiple voices with these sweet guitar licks and such a loud presence with the electric guitar. This song just kicks some major ass! Today's song is by the Beastie Boys, and is one of my favorite songs by them. For those of you who don't really know the Beastie Boys, you may recognize this song from Star Trek. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
