Keeping It Fresh

Day 3 of new music starts off with Jai Wolf. This song was released less than seven days ago, and it hasn't taken long for this song to hit over 100,000 streams. Now I do have to say, this song is very reminiscent of Jai Wolf's previous works of art. There is a rich consistency in what Jai Wolf does and produces. Now normally, a lack of notable evolution would be interesting and almost a little sad to me. But the music that Jai Wolf creates is so beautiful and so perfect that I don't want anyone to dare touch it. Jai Wolf is so recognizable and has a signature sound which makes his sound unmistakable. There is a carefree and deep sense of freedom and hope. Jai Wolf's music has the ability to touch the soul in a way that is wholesome and moving and liberating and free. This song marks the first time Jai Wolf has written the lyrics to his own music. This song has a stunning vocal delivery provided by Mr. Gabriel, but the lyrical credit has to go to Jai Wolf. And these lyr...

Today we are continuing on this "new music" tend, so I have some fresh melodies for you from a man who has really taken a leap forward in the entertainment game. For those of you who don't know, Harry Styles has just spent a good amount of time on filming the newest Christopher Nolan film, Dunkirk. However, just this past week, the One Direction singer turned actor released a solo track and I have to say it is quite interesting. This song is vastly different than what we are used to hearing from Harry Styles' work with One Direction. While the boy band seemed to focus more on young love and youthful shenanigans, this song is an odd ode to maturity and age. This song has a bittersweet kind of melancholy to it. I will say, I really like the way he has embraced the rock side of things, and almost takes a David Bowie or Oasis kind of approach to the song. There is a classic rock kind of vibe to this which I really enjoy. That mix of modern and classic works very well for ...

This has been quite the year for new music, and today I wanted to start by sharing some music which came out recently. As in within this past couple of weeks. So today, we are starting with a song by JR JR. This song is the splash of the sunshine that we all need in our lives. If you are like me and had a ridiculously rough week, this is the song that will help make some of that go away. This song is so uplifting and fun and downright joyful. Everything about this song is bathed in this happiness and bubbliness which genuinely makes you feel so good after listening. The song starts out by presenting this bright watercolor album cover. And the entire lyric video is this adorable and animated sketch which is all done in this brilliantly tame watercolor look. And then we get into the musicality of it all. From the first 10 seconds of the song, you can already tell that this is going to be one of those feel good songs that we all need every once in a while. The song starts out with this re...

Today I have a really wicked remix of one of my favorite movie songs ever. This song is originally by Adele and was featured in the last Bond movie, Skyfall. Now we all know that movie was absolutely incredible. I mean everything about it was so spectacularly done, from the acting to the plot to the characters, and of course, the Bond theme. This was definitely one of the more intense Bond movies, which is why this remix of the original theme is so dope. It may seem weird, but I  think this remix really takes on a lot of elements that the movie itself had. The initial buildup has this increase in anticipation. Clark Kent and Oscar Daniel have us in their palms of their hands with the suspense that continues to build up until it becomes a drop that screams action sequences. That is the great thing about this remix to me. It has enough dubstep and electronic elements to give it the flair that comes with the genre but also maintains the tone of the original song and movie. This song h...

Today I have some new music for you out of the world of EDM and electronic music. Today's first song is by Pierce Fulton. Honestly, I think he is an underrated artist. Pierce Fulton knows how to produce music that will rile up the crowd. There is always this insane amount of energy and sound that you can't help but jump and move and at least headbang some. This song is an explosion of sound and color. Now I know it is strange to think of a song as having a color, but when you hear a song and imagine, there is always a color that comes to mind. And with this song, there is this beautiful display of color from all ends of the spectrum. This song is just so lively and energetic and wild! I like that wildness because it is that of the world that is truly alive and truly living. Pierce Fulton does an amazing job of keeping the energy level at one that can be sustained and toned down when necessary. This song features vocals by the artist Polina. I didn't think she really ...

Today I have music for you by one of my favorite Korean artists. Jay Park is quite the performer and an incredible singer. What I love about him is the fact that he raps and sings in both Korean and English and nails both styles of performing. Yes, this is a more romantic and less intense song, but Jay Park is not limited to songs like this. Actually, this song is one of the more anomalous songs in the fact that it is sweet and smooth and comforting. Normally, Jay Park has a more intense and energetic and dance-vibe sound, but this one has this cozy and sweet and lively. This song is one of those cute love songs that isn't slow and romantic, rather it is more like a springtime energetic vibe. This is a song that has a nice head-bobbing vibe that also has this thumping beat that makes you want to sway. There are also these really nice subtle piano keys that make you want to just move to the music. I also love the background brass instrument. They add this depth and lovely twist to t...

Today I have some music from you that comes from the world of Bollywood. We are seeing an interesting shift in the musicality of Bollywood cinema. On one hand, we have an evolution of music towards a more electronic and EDM based dance style. Many of the popular dance numbers today have that EDM base or some kind of electronic music base. And then we have music which takes another route entirely. This song is one of those. We are now seeing a new kind of music movement within Bollywood, which includes the use of guitars and typical rock band instruments. Lyrics are also becoming simpler, but convey the same kind of meaning. I will say, in the past, many romantic songs had lyrics that would simply take your breath away. I can't say the same for today's music, however, the overall musicality of the songs is what leaves you breathless. This evolution is very interesting to see because of how vastly different it is from the rest of Bollywood's music. I like this newer and emerg...
