JR JR and The Little Prince
This has been quite the year for new music, and today I wanted to start by sharing some music which came out recently. As in within this past couple of weeks. So today, we are starting with a song by JR JR. This song is the splash of the sunshine that we all need in our lives. If you are like me and had a ridiculously rough week, this is the song that will help make some of that go away. This song is so uplifting and fun and downright joyful. Everything about this song is bathed in this happiness and bubbliness which genuinely makes you feel so good after listening. The song starts out by presenting this bright watercolor album cover. And the entire lyric video is this adorable and animated sketch which is all done in this brilliantly tame watercolor look. And then we get into the musicality of it all. From the first 10 seconds of the song, you can already tell that this is going to be one of those feel good songs that we all need every once in a while. The song starts out with this really cool percussion sound. It is a multitude of instruments which come together to gives this slightly tropical and almost tribal kind of percussion sound. It gives the song a really nice warm and folksy kind of feel. Then we get to the horns. They show up at different points in the song, but they help create that really bright and lovely sound which elevates the feel good nature of the song. There is something really nice about having the brass section come in because it gives this different kind of energy to the song. By starting out with that brass melody, the song gives us a hopeful and fun sound from the beginning. The upbeat song includes some really great guitar work, a triangle, brass section, and even some orchestral instruments. Now I don't what each and every instrument in the song is, but JR JR has arranged the song in a way that everything fits together like clockwork. This song has the vibe of something that is a little chaotic but endearingly so. There is a lot happening musically with this song; however, everything still seems to fall into place and sound just right. Even though it may sound a bit crowded at some points, it somehow works. This song is one which is empathetic for all of us. This song has a message which we can all genuinely connect to and understand. The lead vocalist makes it very clear that we all have our dark places. However, we also have the power to reach the sunshine again. What I love about the lyrical meaning of the song, is that it doesn't matter which dark place you go to. At the end of it all, we can still get the ray of sunshine, the gleam of hope and inspiration. This song is one that reminds us that everyone has bad days. But it's all about finding the light. The lyrical value of this song is incredible because it makes us understand that everyone else also understands. Because we have all been to our respective dark places, we all know what it is like to be held there. This song is a reminder and a cry for us to remember that not all things in life are bad. JR JR uses the emotional power of music to bring people together. This song was so magical that it pretty much stole my heart. This was a song I really needed in my life, and I am glad I got to listen to it when I desperately needed it. So pass this one along! Share it with others who need a smile or a way to brighten their day. Today's instrumental song is from the movie The Little Prince. If you haven't seen the film, I highly recommend it. This was such a beautiful film about the power of being a child and embracing the inner kiddo in all of us. Not only was it meaningful, it was moving beyond words. The film score was also so beautifully composed. There is a lovely simplicity to the score, which works very well. There is something wonderfully old-school about this film score. It is comedic and lively and fun and sweet at the same time. These kinds of scores are getting a little bit more rare to find, but this film is one which could only have a score like this. A composition which reflects an enchanting theme and wonderful moments. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
