Keeping It Fresh

Today's song is by a really popular band, but this song is not a well known one. Maroon 5 has many hits on the radio, but I have to say their last album was their worst one. However, this new album is so amazing! This song is from their new album Overexposed. It is really different from their usual music style and doesn't follow the musical pattern of their more mainstream songs. It kind of has a Cobra Starship sound to it. The beats is really catchy and the electronic rhythms are bumping. Now, this new album has been criticized for not portraying their usual sincerity and some think they are becoming sell-outs. What do you think? Today's instrumental song is by Swedish House Mafia! It is an awesome song so if you have heard it already than just enjoy the amazingness that is this song. If not, you should have that adrenaline pumping at the end of the song. Please feel free to comment and I hope you enjoy the music.

Today's song is by English singer and rapper Example. First time I ever heard this song was on Pandora and I was dancing like I was in a club. This is like the mellow song that they would play at the club-its chill but also dance-able. This song is from the album "Wont't Go Quietly." I think Example has an interesting style compared to what I normally consider rap music. I think this song follows the more Chris Brown style- a good singing chorus with good rap in between. Today's instrumental song of the day is by the Deadmau5 and Wolfgang Gartner. This song is one that you can dance to an is awesome to have playing in the background of a party or if you are just hanging out. It would be so awesome to have a light show, with the gloves that have lights at the finger tips, to this song! Definitely two artists worth checking out!

Today's song of the day is by a small Australian group called Strange Talk. They sound like a mix of Phoenix, The Strokes, Foster the People, and Fun. combined. Its quite great! This is their first single ever and I really liked it. Not only is the song really catchy and pretty dancy, but the music video is really cool too. I think this song is really well balanced between all the instruments and the beat is really pumped and energetic! Hopefully you will all like it! And if you have not heard of any of the other four bands, I strongly recommend that you go listen to them because they are so amazing! Today's instrumental song of the day is by Avicii. This song is more intense than the other song of the day but you can definitely chill to this song or dance around your room (like I do...). Most people know Avicii, but if not, hopefully you will enjoy your first  taste of Avicii. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today's song is from Europe, more specifically, Italy! It is quite interesting because pretty much everyone I talk to are oblivious to Italian music, so I thought this was the best place to put it up! Not going to lie, if you translate the song, you will notice that the song has a really good meaning...or maybe that is me misinterpreting...But anyway, this song has a consistent bass beat and has a really catchy tune, and I really like when it goes into violin mode. It isn't the best dancing song, but it is still nice to listen to. Now for today's instrumental song, I decided to share the remixed version of this song because the two sound very different. There are also many remixes of this song, but not one quite like this. Dj Raaban speeds up different parts of the songs at different times and adds his own melodies and beats to the original. He even changes the pitch and range of the song. This is the more dancy version of the song. Both are really different, so, which one i...

Today's song is by a band called White Lies. The tune of this song is brilliant! I really love the heavy bass guitar use. This song has a solid drum line and the guitar line harmonizes with the vocals really well. The singer has a deep voice that kind of reminds me of Marilyn Manson. I absolutely love how the song's tone doesn't match the lyrics. I wouldn't have expected the chorus to be set to the music that it has been set to, but I think the White Lies did a fantastic job of meshing the two. Today's instrumental song of the day is definitely more mellow than the White Lies, but I found it a little while ago and really wanted to post  it on here. This song is by a Texan rock group called Explosions in the Sky, which in my opinion, is a pretty sweet name. They really use their acoustic guitar well and their drums, but it doesn't sound like a mash up of different instruments just playing. There is a distinct beginning, middle, and end to the song. Not only that,...

Today we have a song by the Puerto Rican singer Don Omar. He is actually pretty famous in the Latin American world...I found out about him by attending Zumba classes (don't judge, you know it seems fun). His music is more reggaeton and also that fast-paced Latina sound. The drum is pretty sweet too because it seems to follow its own kind of beat but fits with the song. This song is really fun to sing and dance to. Don Omar has really good music so definitely go check him out! Today's instrumental song of the day is by Tiesto! This song is more mellow sounding (not that Tiesto could ever be called "mellow") but is still pretty awesome! I love the part when he changes the placement of the beat and then goes back to the original beat of the song. I hope you enjoy the music and feel free to comment!

Today's song is by a lesser know band called Band of Horses. The lead singer has a very distinct voice and style of singing that is very soothing and it sounds great with the music. The song is kind of sad, but I really love this band and this song. Its so nice to listen to when its raining outside....this song is a beautiful blend of soft, soothing music and rock. Today's instrumental song of the day is by M83. It does have a few words in it, but the feeling you get when you listen to this song is such a rush! For me, this song is a mix of a rush and the feeling that I am approaching the end of the hardest task I have ever had to accomplish.....kind of like Simba at the end of the Lion King when he is walking up the rock in the rain....Anyway, I hope you enjoy the  music and please feel free to comment!
