The Summer Set and Neon Trees

Today I have music for you by a band called The Summer Set. This song is like a breath of fresh air in the world of punk rock. This song is a great song to call the vacation anthem or summer anthem.

This song is just bursting with energy and a fun feeling to it. I think this song is so appropriate for summer not only because it has that fun feel to it, but the lyrics talk about passion and love and freedom and excitement, all things that define how summer and vacationing is. It captures the feeling of driving around town while standing up out of the sun roof of the car. It brings that feeling of basking in the sun and playing in the surf.

Now when it comes to the vocals of this song, I think it is brilliant. The vocals are incredible! There is a softness to these vocals that remind me of The Cab's lead singer. When it needs to be rougher and more intense, it can be. But in these instances with a pumped up beat and a riveting sound, the softer and higher pitched vocals fit perfectly.

There is something that is just so likable about this song. I cannot pin point a certain thing. It could be the heart beat drum, or the low key bass guitar work. It might be the the synth work that is going on in the background or the keyboard. But all of these together combine to make a song that is just so enjoyable. I can listen to this song over and over again and still feel so good. This song always puts a smile on my face because it has that merry vibe and entertaining sound. I absolutely love this song and everything about it. The vivacity of the sound and the strength through which the vitality surges through the song and then the soul is just the greatest.

Today's instrumental song is by a band that I think has a very similar sound to The Summer Set. Or rather, The Summer Set has a sound that is in line with that of this band. Neon Trees is just an awesome band to listen to. This song is one of their first major single and is a song that is very hard to not enjoy. This song is also about passion and love and lust, things that every teenager and youth goes through. Of course this song has a great liveliness to it from the heavy drum beat to the background synth and catchy chorus. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
