BYRAM and Coldplay

Today I have some music for you by an artist who goes by the stage name BYRAM. This is an aritist who isn't a huge spotlight artist, but that is what makes me love him so much. BYRAM has such a fresh and lovely style, the kind of sound you get from an artist who is only concerned about making music.

From what I can tell, every aspect of this song was produced and created by BYRAM. That means he writes the songs, performs them, and produces them. This is such a rare skill set, and that already puts him quite ahead in my book. BYRAM has a very interesting and unique sound. While some of the genre characteristics we hear in this song are not necessarily new and edgy, the way they are blended together is extremely creative and fun.

This song is a really nice chilled out one with a very R&B twist to it. What I like about this song is that instead of sticking with something that is just a chill electronic beat and melody, we get something that is more chillhop. This means we get something that has R&B vocals set against an electronic background, and that combination is always a good one. On top of that, there is a subtle tropical electronic touch to the song which gives it this smooth and pleasing warmth. It brings some light heartedness and vibrancy to the song, something which keeps it fresh and dynamic. There is something so enticing and gripping about the melody of the song from the moment the first note is played. There is this relaxed and slightly bouncy nature to the song which makes it so incredibly suave. On top of that, something to notice is that there isn't really an instrumental chorus. The synth and drum pad keeps the same rhythm and melody throughout the entire song. The R&B drum beat is also perfectly in rhythm throughout the song. None of the instrumentals really change as the song goes until the bridge comes along. Even then, it is more of a musical strip than anything else. But I like that a lot because we get a dynamic vocal performance.

The vocals in this song aren't super complicated, but they are dynamic in movement. BYRAM makes sure to switch between falsettos and normal voice effectively so that we can hear the peaks and valleys in the vocal composition. BYRAM also has a very nice voice, one that is calm and nicely toned. There isn't a grittiness, nor does he sound like his voice is dripping in milk and honey. It is a day to day voice, one that has a soothing blend of a bit of roughness and a smooth and silky sound. All in all, this song is one of those lounge and chill out songs that have you feeling good. Not too energetic nor too slow, BYRAM gives us something that we can leisurely enjoy.

Today's instrumental song is by one of the most famous bands in the world. Coldplay really doesn't need much of an introduction. But this song is one of my favorites off the album Ghost Stories which also happens to be my favorite album. This song is not an outwardly powerful and bombastic song. This is one that hums with power, a subtle but constant wave of power and sound. Everything about this song is soft and vulnerable, but the consistency and insistence and hope found within each note and each plink of the piano is so moving. This song doesn't even need lyrics to be understood or felt. The music and instrumentals alone are enough to tell us the story behind the song, and that is something both heart breaking and beautiful. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
