Chester Bennington

Today is a day that the music community across the globe mourns. It has been such a hard year for music fans, especially rock fans. But today we have been dealt a blow so rough, I feel it in my heart. It was reported earlier today that the lead singer of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, passed away. And I know when people read the news and look up what happened, the realization of what happened is shocking.

However, you may also notice the sheer number of people who have mentioned him, who are talking about him and paying homage and tribute to him. You may see the people who are writing about him, and thanking him for everything he has done. There are so many of us out there who owe so much to Linkin Park and Chester Bennington. For me, their music was all about finding strength. It was about facing all the inner demons that humanity must face whether we want to or not. Their music inspired generations of people to grow and become courageous and strong. The music and the lyrics are so powerful and moving because they are so honest and real. And for those of us who were in pain, who felt like no one would understand us and that we were alone, Chester Bennington would sing to us and remind us that we were heard. He sang his understanding and empathy. He told us to fight and become strong because we are so much more. There are scores of people who owe their lives to the music Linkin Park made, and the songs that Chester Bennington croons. In a way, you could say that he helped save us and showed us that we could be so much more. That we could feel so much more. That we are never alone.

Thank you Chester Bennington. Thank you for being there for a generation who needed you. Thank you for helping to inspire a generation to become stronger, wiser, and fiercer. Thank you for showing us the light in the darkness, that we can overcome. Thank you for helping thousands of us find peace, even when you could not. And I am sorry. I am sorry that we never thanked you before. I am sorry that as a Linkin Park family, we couldn't be there for you the way you were for us. I am sorry that we couldn't help you find the strength you needed when you gave us the strength we needed. May you finally rest, and may you finally be at peace. From the the heart that beats as one across the world, we love you Chester
