Dr. Srimix and Offer Nissim

Today I have some remixed and mashed up music for you! So this song is pieced together by a DJ who goes by the name Dr. Srimix. Now I have to tell you, out of everything that has happened since becoming a dancer on the Bollywood fusion circuit, discovering Dr. Srimix and the cohort of Bollywood fusion DJs is the greatest part. Dr. Srimix has a knack for finding Western and Bollywood songs that fit so well together. Somehow, he makes the songs become puzzle pieces, and manipulates them into fitting exactly the way they need to. Of course, this is nothing short of admiration and a testament to the incredible skill that he has as a DJ. The Indian dance community in the US is quite large, and Dr. Srimix is one of the most well known and popular DJ among the dance network. And for absolutely great reason. He has created mixes with songs that I never even thought to listen to on a regular basis, let alone use for a remix. But then again, I guess that is one of the great things about being in a community like the dance one. There is so much opportunity to watch and hear things as phenomenal as this. Dr. Srimix has mastered the art of layering two cultural sounds into a seamless production of lively and bright sounds. That is something that most of the famous DJs cannot claim to do within their skill set. It is one thing to be able to mash up and remix songs that are all in English or songs that share similar musical structures. But to take the ethnic sounding songs from one culture, and apply it to another, well that is something that is not only impressive, but also very commendable. And with this song, not only do we get English and Western sounds, but we also get some Bollywood and a lot of Persian/Middle Eastern music. Dr. Srimix is the kind of artist who has no qualms about working with others. This song features three other artists, all of whom are fantastic musicians. Jai Matt is the most popular vocalist to work with Dr. Srimix, but we also get some vocal work from Aditya Rao and some rap work from NICCO. That is right, we have even got some rap music in this song. His songs normally feature another person, and the usual culprit of these collaborations is Jai Matt. Now, this is a guy who can sing and helps create vocally smooth transitions. Even though Jai Matt does not put out a lot of solo work, his efforts make these songs masterpieces of the game. His ability to move between languages and singing styles makes him such a great addition to the team. Aditya Rao is a great Bollywood singer, one who has beautifully flawless Hindi, and a stunning voice to get the language across. And then we have Violinder, a classical Indian violinist. A weird combination, especially when you throw rapper NICCO in. Being able to work with so many underground Indian musicians is something that is not easy, but often times it can be a great way to put their music out there as well. There is sheer genius dripping from the musical glands that Dr. Srimix must have. Being able to combine so many different songs and sounds and ethnic translations is something that few can claim. Dr. Srimix uses a lot of foreign music and is not restricted to being Bollywood. Even with this song, we get a little experimentation with that more Middle Eastern kind of vibe, and when you go online to hear his music, you aren't restricted to just those kinds of Asian sounds. Dr. Srimix is also most definitely a friend of the world of Korean rap.  I hope Dr. Srimix keeps up with everything because his mixes are dope! Today's instrumental song is by an amazing Middle Eastern DJ by the name of Offer Nissim. He is the most popular and famous Israeli DJ, even though you may have never heard of him before. A lot of times when it comes to electronic music, we find it hard to look past some of the more popular artists who generally come out of Europe. However, Offer Nissim is one of the few artists I know who really takes and uses euro dance. This song is done in a style that seems a bit older when we listen to modern electronic music. Yet, it remains fantastic and dance-able. But I love the way both Offer Nissim and Dr. Srimix use that ethnic percussion to create a rich background track, filled with depth. Both artists have learned to weave and coerce melodic strands to fit within compositions. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
