Kris Kross Amsterdam & Conor Maynard and Rio

Today I have some music for you by the trio of artists known as Kris Kross Amsterdam. This trio of DJs has become pretty popular in the tropical house circuit, and this song is definitely a winner! I will say when I first heard this song I was already a bit biased towards loving it because the song features Conor Maynard. And to be quite honest, he ends up being just as perfect as ever! Kris Kross Amsterdam did a great job of making a song that is soft and light hearted, which makes Conor Maynard a fabulous choice. His soft and soulful voice is such lovely compliment to the sweeter tropical sound that Kris Kross Amsterdam provides. This song bridges quite a few different genres together in a way that makes this song really pop. R&B, funk, hip hop, and soul are blasted with a tropical flavor to get this song. This song hits you with that tropical sound from the get-go, introducing more tropical sounding percussion. I really like what Kris Kross Amsterdam did with the electric guitar in this song as well. They made the guitar riffs simple and small, but it adds a little bit of an edginess to it. Not a severe edge, almost a bit of a seductive edge. We also get a really good synth melody with this song. There is a liveliness that isn't overly energetic. This is a trend we are seeing with a lot of electronic music. Artists are opting in for something that has a feel good vibe rather than a sick drop. Now I will say to each their own, but I definitely love the direction that these artists are taking. Kris Kross Amsterdam has a really good reputation of producing feel good music, and this is definitely one of those songs. The combination of Conor Maynard's light and soft voice and Kris Kross Amsterdam's fun production gives us a song that is absolutely amazing. This is a song that makes any room feel sunny and is even better when listened to outside doing something awesome. I really hope we get to hear more of Conor Maynard in this style of music because he has been on hiatus for a while from his original music. But coming back with Kris Kross Amsterdam has been a really nice resurgence for both artists. Hopefully, we will get to hear more collaborations from these guys! Today's instrumental song is from the movie Rio! This is an absolutely adorable movie, and has a very sweet soundtrack. There is such an adorable tropical sound to this score and I love how fitting it is with the friendly loveliness of the movie. This composition is a fun one, and I really like this piece because it has a little bit of a mischievous sound to it. We get a really nice piece that exhibits emotions that are not surrounded by loneliness or sadness or euphoria and inspiration. We get to hear those kinds of compositions more often than those that take on clever and mischievous kinds of emotions. This is still an adorable piece and great movie!
