F4ST and Afishal

Today I have a fun and energetic song by the artist F4ST. Now I had not heard of these guys till today, and I was totally taken in by this song. It is definitely a catchy one and has so much liveliness to it. One of the things I really like about this song is that it kind of has a darker tropical sound. A lot of times tropical electronic music has a very bubbly and happy and beachy sound. But this song takes some of those tropical sounds and warps them to have a chillstep influence. I thought that was pretty cool! The Columbian electronic duo brings their own cultural flavor to this song. The entire second verse is sung in Spanish. It is not often that we get to hear something like that. I mean it is one thing to have a Spanish artist write a song that is produced as a more upbeat electronic song. But having a song that is specifically meant to be and EDM song meshed with English and Spanish? Well that is definitely something you do not hear everyday. And that is pretty cool! I like that this song takes the percussion importance of Columbian music and employs it in this song. The percussion has quite an important role in this song. The percussion ends up carrying a lot of the harmonizing lines as well as the beat, and I really do enjoy that. The percussion helps really amplify the tropical nature of the sound while also giving the slightest hint of reggaeton. Even some of the main melody is provided by the rhythm section. The mix of tropical and chill brings us a song that we can dance to or lounge to. It is a song that I can definitely hear being played at the club with lights flashing. This is also a song that I can also imagine dancing to with a guy. And that is part of the beauty of the song! It fits with so many situations and moments! I like the fact that this song is just an all around feel good song as well. Not only are the lyrics pretty uplifting, but the music itself is just wonderful. The song isn't' a rager, but it is still such a fun song to have playing in the background. F4ST has really got the underground sound down to an art. They use popular genres to create a beautiful blend of sounds that is unique and charmingly catchy. They have a good dossier of music out, so I am definitely going to be looking at more of their music and will hopefully be bringing more of their sound to you all. Today's instrumental song is by an artist who has taken the art of DJing to an insanely cool level. Afishal is one of the most unique artists I have ever seen. Sadly, I haven't had the opportunity to watch is wicked performance skills live, but I hope to one day. What makes Afishal stand out from every other artist out there is how he produces the sounds for his music. Afishal has created his own special drum set which is basically a giant MIDI controller. Every sound, song, light show, etc is performed live. He has taken popular EDM songs and recreated them, as well as coming up with his own songs. Watching him work is absolutely incredible! I can guarantee you have not seen anything like this and it is so fascinating to watch. The art and science behind what Afishal does is a beautifully unique thing to see and experience. The creativity and skill of Afishal's performances is unbelievable! I simply had to show you what he can do! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
