30 Seconds to Mars and Invictus

Today I have some music for you by one of my favorite bands, 30 Seconds To Mars. Now this is a band I haven't blogged about in a while, and I am really excited to finally be able to talk about this song. This is one of the greatest songs I have ever had the pleasure of hearing from 30 Seconds To Mars. This is a song that is inspiring beyond measure. Jared Leto has always been a vision, but being able to hear that through the music he was written and composed is an entirely different experience. Now this song is a story, and the lyrics relay that story as well as the music video. What we have here is a film without dialogue. And I love the way Jared Leto makes his music and visuals mesh so beautifully that we feel incomplete with only one part. The band humanizes this song by creating the sensation that we are hearing them perform at a live show. We distinctly hear Jared Leto's smooth and powerful voice, but it is flanked by the chorus chanting along. It gives us the feeling that we hear the song while at a live stadium show, where it is just us and the band and the thousands of fans who make up the music family. This song is epic and euphoric, evoking that state of being completely lost to the music. This is such a passionate delivery of music, a song that was written with the masses in mind. This is a song that gives 30 Seconds to Mars the ability to make us part of their music. The arena anthem is all about filling the fans with that same passion and vision the band shares. The song is theatrical, emotional, and soulful. The band brings so many ideas and feelings to this song, and we can't help but be transfixed. Shannon Leto's pounding of drums like a thunder god, Jared Leto's powerful and emotive vocals, and Tomo Milicevic's insane guitar and keyboard work is what brings the song together. And of course, the fan chorus. The way we are integrated into the song is something we don't hear every day. I can't help but love the fact that this is such a sing-a-long song because of how much the chorus consists of crowds singing together. There is a wildness to this song which cannot be tamed, and 30 Seconds to Mars gives us an inspiring and moving view on life. Today's instrumental song comes to you from an incredible movie that I recently watched. Invictus is a wonderful story about one of the most iconic men in history. This movie was both powerful and stunning and is one I highly recommend you all watch. There is such a beautiful and warming message to the movie, one that is applicable today and tomorrow. It tells the story of a nation that comes together despite hundreds of years of difference. And the man who brought the country together, we get to see a performance that is captivating and accurate beyond measure. Invictus is a story of hope and change, and the score for the film reflects these sentiments. The score was composed by Kyle Eastwood and Michael Stevens. This is one of the first scores I ever heard by Kyle Stevens, and I must say, I absolutely love it. This is a magical masterpiece, one that immerses us in South African culture. We get to hear sounds from both the English-speaking side of music, and we get to hear the beautiful and traditional sounds of Africa as well. The score is dazzling and full of this absolutely vibrant life. Kyle Eastwood brought the African influence to this score and blends it with the rest of the orchestra, giving us pieces that are absolutely mesmerizing. From percussion inclusion to specific African instruments, we get so much flavor and vivacity with this score as well as emotion and poignancy. There is a lot of calm power in this score and each song conveys so much feeling. We get to feel a semblance of the emotions that the characters felt in the movie and at the time in history. This is a truly beautiful score, and is one that does the film justice. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
