Blue Foundation and Interstellar

Today I have music for you by the group known as Blue Foundation. Blue Foundation is a group that is most known for being a cinematic and electronic group. Their music has been featured in movies and television shows and has also been featured in some of the biggest movie franchises of the past seven years or so. This song is probably their most popular song and has been remixed quite a few times. This song is one of those transcendent and ethereal kind of electronic songs that drips with longing and pain in a way that you normally don't expect from electronic music. A lot of electronic music has the reputation of being loud and energetic and crazy and wild, but this song is one that really expresses the idea of facing your demons and fighting them off. This song was written and produced during a time when producer Tobias Wilner was going through a very tough time and the lyrics and instrumentation of this song is a pure expression of this struggle. This is one of those songs that you listen to when the world is dark, whether it be raining or storming or just nighttime. This is one of those songs that has the ability to drudge up and bring to light the deepest desires that you have. There is this underlying bass synth that proves a strong backbone to the song. This constant bass is something that serves as a constant, a sign of stability in the midst of the whirlwind that is around. And then we are introduced to electronic percussion work and synth keyboards. The percussion adds this intense depth to the song and creates a sense of mystery and intrigue. This song has such an abstract nature to it. The guitar is also very prominent in this song. Namely, the bass guitar is the real player in that field, and it sounds incredibly good. The bass guitar with the guitar pedal work is what gives the song that slight rippling feel. That actually makes such a huge difference in how the song sounds and comes across. That slight ripple and wave effect makes the song just a little unsteady, adding a more elusive order to the song.  It doesn't necessarily create an image in your head, but a swirl of images and colors with no definitive shape. The interpretation of this song truly is up to your imagination and emotions. There is a raw darkness to the song, something that is almost dangerous. And as weird as it may sound, there is this almost seductive element to the song. That underlying sense of danger makes this a song that is so incredibly addicting. You can't stop listening, are completely captured and ensnared by the song. I just love the way this song was produced and a lot of Blue Foundation's music has that cinematic and dramatic flair which makes it something that is absolutely incredible. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Inception. This has been held as one of the greatest movies by Christopher Nolan, and I cannot disagree with that notion. This score was done by the genius, Hans Zimmer. The man is like a magician when it comes to creating music. This specific composition is a beautiful and spectral and eerie piece all in one. There is an anticipation that weaves itself throughout the composition. We feel that rush of exhilaration and nervousness that the movie portrays. There is this specific kind of sound that we now associate with Inception because of this score. The piece is ominous and dark, with a little eeriness which keeps us all entranced. The intensity of the piece is only rivaled by the intensity of the film itself and that gives the music so much power.
