Robin Schulz and Calvin Harris

Today I have music for you by a few music producers who are responsible for some really incredible music. This song is a collaboration between Robin Schulz, David Guetta, and Cheat Codes. Now these are three artists I am mad for! Each one of them has a distinct style that is very much their own to claim. Robin Schulz brings a lot of the eurodance kind of sound, employing the sounds of stringed instruments. David Guetta brings his infectious energy and catchy beats. Cheat Codes brings their tropical kind of sound and killer vocals. Together, the three of them have been able to find a nice middle ground where we get to hear all of their skills put to work. The instrumentals are led by an emotive string melody. This melody is backed by some strong house beats and bass line. And with just this much we already get to see where these artists are coming together. The beats and bass are too heavy to be normal of Robin Schulz but aren't heavy enough to be considered one of David Guetta's solo creations. We already hear that middle ground between the two artists! What is cool is that Robin Schulz tends to be more on the emotional side of electronic music. This medium is a hard enough one to find and use, but the way Robin Schulz does it is nothing short of beautiful. The more emotional end of the spectrum is perfectly balanced by David Guetta's incredible energy and presence. The two sounds together blend into something that Cheat Codes can provide lyrics and vocals to layer on top. Now in this song we don't actually get as much production time from Cheat Codes. Their main contribution to the song is providing the vocals and lyrical content. I found this to be pretty awesome! It is so nice to hear an electronic song that doesn't feature people with some serious vocal chops, rather, the vocals of a producer. Its like hearing a voice from a different perspective, not as a vocalist but as a music creator.  This song is absolutely infectious and vivacious. It is so much fun to listen to and is even more amazing to dance to. There is a wild carefreeness to the entire song, and I love how the three artists came together to create a song that is like a breath of fresh air. Today's instrumental song is by the famous Calvin Harris. This song originally features the breathy vocals of Ellie Goulding, but this version is the stripped down instrumental version. There is an energy to the song that reminds me of the first song. Calvin Harris is known for his energetic and pop oriented electronic songs, and this is no different. This song helped put his skills as a DJ on the universal stage, and I can see why. There is a delicate balance between being a pop song and house song, one that Calvin Harris seems to be able to manage. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
