Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them and Harry Potter

Today I have some music for you from the most wonderfully magical movie of the year. For those of you who grew up with the characters of Harry Potter, today is an absolute treat. This week marked the release of the newest installation in the wonderful world of magic. This new movie takes place in the 1920's of New York City, and features some of the most astonishing and adorable creatures out there. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a magical whirlwind of wizardry, magical creatures, fun loving muggles, and adventurous spirit. This movie features actors whom are severely underrated, but perform beautifully and incredibly well. Eddie Redmayne and Ezra Miller are the two actors that really come to mind when I talk about phenomenal acting. The characters they portray are beautifully complex and hauntingly damaged. The way these two actors are able to blend these different aspects, and bring to life characters that are pivotal to the story, well it is nothing short of brilliant. There are so many sweet and touching references to characters and phrases from the world of Harry Potter and I loved that so much. I also loved the way JK Rowling wrote this movie with so much subtle darkness. There are so many moments in this movie, so many fleeting moments and lines that give this movie so much meaning. JK Rowling is legitimately one of the most genius authors in history. Her ability to write every word to be laced with a deeper meaning, and all of those insignificant moments that end up being the most vital point to the story- it is something that still leaves me awestruck. That ability to be dark even when a moment seems relatively happy on the surface. The ability to give names so much power in their meaning. These are things that undeniably make JK Rowling a genius and a visionary of an author. So in honor of the resurgence of the Magical Wizarding World, I have music from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, as well as the original Harry Potter series. This music is iconic, a sound I will never forget. The same way everyone recognizes the TARDIS sound or the lightsaber, the Harry Potter score is something I have engrained in my memories, my childhood, and my soul. I cannot wait to see what this new franchise has in store for us, and I cannot wait to make it a part of my life. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
