Bad Suns and Trevor Morris

Today I have some music for you by a more low key band called Bad Suns. My primary exposure to this band was at The 1975 concert. Bad Suns was the opening act and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Having my first listen be a live one was very interesting because I could form a better opinion about the band, and I was very impressed. The lead singer of this band has some seriously strong vocals that carry through and really fill up the space of sound. There is a full richness to that voice which embodies the soul of rock extremely well, and the tone of his voice is one that I have not heard from a rock band in some time. Part of me is reminded of bands like The Killers and Linkin Park, and Bastille-trademark voices. This song has some nice vocal harmonization to it and a pinch of angst which rounds the vocals out very nicely. There is really nice guitar work in this song as well. The main melody for the guitar is rather simple, but Bad Suns messes with the sound that makes it sound really awesome. And the guitar solo is shorter, but wow the vibrato and reverb is just amazing. The overall feel of the song is a little on the calmer side. It doesn't quite have the dark undertones as some might expect,  but I think the lyrics take care of some desired darkness. There is something almost beautiful to the way the vocals slide over the instruments in the background. The both of them meld together and fold into each other in a wholesome way and makes a well-rounded sound. I highly recommend for you all to check out the rest of their music because it is really good. The best summary of this band is punk meets indie. There is a calm wholesomeness to the song, something that people can actually feel. Today's instrumental song is from one of the greatest shows ever,Vikings. Even for people who can't get into the fantastic melee that is Vikings, you cannot deny the brilliance behind the score. Good acting is one thing, but having the perfect music to go with it is what makes your heart wrench or have you fired up or excited. Trevor Morris is an absolute genius and has crafted something so special and specific. Each composition in the score is so precisely suited to what it is supposed to represent. The accuracy of the musical representation is absolutely uncanny. The entire score mirrors the roller coaster that is Vikings and captures the essence of everything, from the mystery to the battle scenes to the drama,in a way that I can't fathom. It is truly incredible and each character has a significant theme that marks them apart from all others. This is a show that is absolutely addicting, and is one that is definitely worth the watch. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
