Steve Aoki, Boehm, & Walk The Moon and Galantis

Today I have some music for you by one of the world's biggest DJs and an artist who has produced one of the biggest dance anthems of recent years. Steve Aoki is an artist who is all kinds of creative genius, with a little bit of madness thrown into the mix for extra flavor. Collaborating alongside Steve Aoki is Behm and the band Walk The Moon, a band who's biggest single is one of the most popular pop-rock anthems of recent years. This song is one that captures part of the electronic dance message and culture so well. This song is all about returning to something you love. It's about going home to someone you love, someone who means the world to you. And in a way, that is what EDM is all about. It is about feeling at home in a world of music that is wild and free. We get to hear that sense of freedom and excitement and vivacity in this song. This song is a splendid meeting of the minds, bringing together this dance-pop track. Steve Aoki provides us that upbeat and fun and energetic beat while Walk the Moon brings us that pop sound that has a subdued indie vibe influencing the overall sound. This song is more low key than other EDM songs of the same caliber. This is a song that is more controlled but isn't reined in either. Steve Aoki produces this song with the intention of giving us something that is the utmost sense of feeling boundless but does so in a way that is perfectly controlled and manipulated. The way he works the melodies and beats, weaving them together into a tapestry of sound, is what makes this song work the way it does. It is what gives this song structure which conveys something more emotional and liberating. This post-EDM style that we get with this song is something that is better than just loud beats and programmed notes. The contemporary EDM which is cropping up is full of intricate melodies and balance. There is a harmonious blending of that EDM sound, with something that is softened and a bit more introspective. It has turned into music that feeds the adventurous parts of our souls, something that EDM is particularly good at. With this song, we get to hear the rich instrumentals and vocals of Walk The Moon and the more beat heavy and melodiously happy additions of Steve Aoki and Boehm. If I am to be completely honest, the musicality of this song is more influenced by Boehm than Steve Aoki's mixing. But Steve Aoki's ability to work across sub-genres is something that is incredibly impressive. What makes this song even better, is the way that it opens the door for all of the artists to express a more emotional side. It is a song that people can not only connect to but can also draw on for strength. This has to be one of the best collaborations that Steve Aoki has put together! Today's instrumental song is by Galantis. I have had this song as part of my anthem list of the day, and there is something about it that really makes me feel like I have nothing holding me back. This song is one of those songs that brings out this sense of adventure and freedom. There are also so many remixes of this song, all of them taking their own interpretation of the song. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
