Mac Miller & Anderson Paak and Bruno Mars & Mark Ronson

Today I have some music for you by a rapper who saw quite a bit of popularity a few years back. Mac Miller surfaced from the underground to become a rather popular artist, and has since, kind of gone down back into the underground scene. This song is actually such a great symbol of that! To start off, this song is straight chill hop. I mean there isn't a "super" rap vibe to this song whatsoever. The beats aren't heavy and the bass is not strong at all. However, there is such a funky and groovy sound to the song and that is pretty fun! This song also features work by Anderson Paak, an artist who is an incredibly talented and gifted creative genius. Anderson Paak seems to be a huge influence for this song because the vibe has his name written all over it. This song has a good amount of synth work, but there is also a good amount fo percussion work with the drums and cymbals. There is an inherently bubbly sound to this song that is legitimately just infectious energy. The funk instrumental is such a bouncing and fun vibe. The smooth downtempo production is another reason that this song has a great jam to it. There is a little bit of a soul element to the song as well, a jazzy kind of soul that only seems to enhance the funk of the song. Anderson Paak is not one to go for anything other than creative with his music, and neither is Mac Miller. I thoroughly enjoy the way these two artists take their completely different spheres of music and bring them together to create an incredibly smooth and groovy song. For Mac Miller, this single is such a great one to have as a single for the newest album. Oh yeah, by they way, Mac Miller is getting ready to drop a hot new album! I can't wait to hear what he sounds like now! If this is any indication as to his progression, I am quite excited to see where he goes. Today's instrumental song is one that is incredibly popular but is just so damn groovy that I couldn't help posting these two together. Each time I hear this song by Mark Ronson, there is something a little bit funkier. His skill as a producer is one that has gone underrated for too long. Mark Ronson has really been able to blend different genres together so that they work in a contagious way. I have to say, I am impressed by that . It seems like today really is all about the funk! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
