R3hab and Jonas Blue

Back again with some music for you! I am doing some travelling now, so my posting may be a bit sporadic. But today I am back with some music by one of the queens of the radio and the dancefloor- Rihanna. Now this is an artist that everyone knows. I mean you can't go about listening to music without knowing this name. Which is why you very rarely ever see me posting anything by her. Features are a different story, as are remixes. That is right, today we are going straight to the remix game. And this remix is one that I absolutely love.  R3hab is one of the best remixing DJs out there. He is also a DJ who is pretty huge in the underground scene, though not so much in the bigger spotlight. And that is all good with me because R3hab has some sick work because of those loose reins. Now normally, he likes to stick with super energetic remixes, opting for something that is a little more intense and banging. But seeing as tropical house has become very popular, R3hab has put a topical dance twist on this hip hop song. But what makes this remix even better is the fact that we don't get that super peppy and happy kind of house sound. We get something that is darker and more thoughtful when it comes to the original song. The original version of the song is not a very happy song, and the entire meaning of the song isn't exactly one to be all smiles and grins about. So R3hab takes the song and makes it into a dance anthem that is anything but energetic and lively. In fact, he takes the song and molds it into chilled out tropical vibes, relying less and less on the actual vivacity of tropical house, and focusing more on the technical skills used to make tropical sounds. He takes those tropical methods and uses it as a great way to get they sensual dance vibe going. But you still notice the fact that the song has darker undertones. I honestly really like that. We get more of the underground electronic scene instead of something that is heard on the radio or popularized at festivals. This is a nice, soft jam to listen to and is a great way to frame Rihanna's style with the song. Out of all the remixes of this song that are out, I think this one has to be my absolute favorite. This is not a rave song, not a beachy song, but something I would be caught listening at night or a lounge. Today's instrumental song is another softer kind of electronic song. What is great about these kinds of songs, is that they are more electronic but don't have that EDM label to it. Now I must say, this song by Jonas Blue is a more energetic and pumped up song, and defintiely has more of that electronic feel to it. However, it is still not the kind of EDM that we are most accustomed to hearing in the radio world. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
