Kero One and Funky DL

Today I have music for you by an artist that I recently started listening to. Kero One is a very eclectic and interesting artist to listen to because of how different his music sounds. His sound is something that we wouldn't take too much notice of if it were just instrumentals, but as soon as he opens his mouth, the entire vibe changes. Kero One has an incredibly jazzy and lounge kind of sound. There is this really nice funk and groove to his music that reminds me of jazz bars. The music is so warm and comforting to listen to, with a nice chilled out and coffee shop kind of sound. And then, Kero One starts rapping. Not singing, not humming or scatting, but rapping. Now I feel like this wouldn't be such a huge shock, but the flawlessness of how smooth everything sounds is what gets me. When you have the kind of jazz that plays in the background, there  has to be some kind of smooth chaos to the entire song. After all, a lot of jazz is just being able to play off the other instruments and their improvisation. And then we throw Kero One's rhymes in there and the song starts to get a little different. For one thing, we get that hip hop element which is a cool twist to the opening jazz lines. But we also get to hear lyrics that are really well written and genuine. Kero One talks about life and a lot of really positive things which I appreciate. His lyrics match the mood of the music, something that is a little messy but still has some sense of order and harmony. Kero One's jazz hop kind of style is impeccably neat and extremely well done. I am a newfound fan of his music and originality., I definitely need to spend more time listening to his other work! Today's instrumental song is by Funky DL. This is straight jazz hop, with more of a piano bar focus. I love this kind of music! I find it incredibly chill to listen to and something soothing and fun. This song is such a nice and suave song, something that really captures the jazz bar feel well. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
