G-Eazy & Kehlani and The Thin Red Line

Today I have some music for you by a an artist who seems to have blown up the charts this past year. G-Eazy is one of the more popular rappers making music right now, even though there is quite a bit of music that goes unnoticed and unheard by the vast majority of radio listeners. G-Eazy is an artist that has the capability of creating extremely meaningful and heart breaking music. This is one of those deep songs, a song that shows the grounded side of G-Eazy. A lot of rap and hip hop today is about living larger life, that feeling of being completely invincible and constantly on cloud 9. But what G-Eazy does with this song, is bring it back to humanity, bringing the music back to that flawed and imperfect sense of humanity. This song is definitely a meaningful one for G-Eazy, bringing his own demons up to the surface. And I love that he did this song with Kehlani because of what she has gone through. Kehlani has met some very dark times, and she has had to sacrifice quite a bit to pull herself out of those dark times. With this song, we definitely get that same feeling from G-Eazy, the sentiment of a man who has lived conflicted. Having both of them do the record together makes this song something that is absolutely genuine. This song is such a raw masterpiece, one that is unashamed to be vulnerable. G-Eazy has such incredible flow in this song, especially because of how personal this song is. And I appreciate how completely open G-Eazy is in this song. TO be able to share something like this with all of his fans, with the entire music community, that is something that is so hard to do. But I love that he bares his soul to us. I have to say, this song made me listen to G-Eazy in a completely different way. It is such an eye opening song, one that leaves G-Eazy pretty much naked in front of the world. He lets us into his world, and this track really is something spectacular and so tragically beautiful. Today's instrumental song comes from the movie The Thin Red Line. Hans Zimmer is the creator behind this chilling and haunting piece. This is a score that is full of sadness, a genuine kind of pain that only music can really express. But it is so beautifully done, full of sadness yes, but also so full of hope. This is a piece that looks toward the future, a piece that looks at what could be. Hans Zimmer has this incredible gift of creating pieces that are so powerful that they bypass everything and go straight to the soul. Every composition is felt so deeply, and so fully. There is a reason why he is one of the world's greatest composers. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
