DIGY and Imagine Dragons

Today I have some music for you by an artist called DIGY. This is a super nice and chilled out song, something that I have been able to listen for days. What I like about this song is that there is a darker undertone to parts of the song, but the overall sound of the sound is actually brighter than one would expect from a song like this. Now I have to be honest with you, there isn't much that I know about DIGY. He is a very underground artist, one  who hasn't revealed much about himself other than his music. In a way, that is actually even more intriguing, making me want to keep trying to figure out who he is. On the other hand, I actually kind of like the fact that his identity is more mysterious. It adds something to the music, making the music itself something more enigmatic. This song has that sense of abstractness to it, something that really suits the fact that DIGY shows a lot of control in his voice. That ambiguity and ebb and flow makes the vocals stand out even more. But DIGY has also done something great with the production by blurring the lines between instrumentality and vocals, blending the words into the music surrounding it. That creates such a smooth and soothing effect, something that makes this song such a good listen. It also gives the song a little bit of a sensual sound, not anything seductive, but something that has a little bit of a sexiness to it. DIGY also has higher pitched vocals, which goes really well with the fact that the instrumentals are deeper and a little darker. There is also a lot of reliance on the bass. If you listen to this with headphones or speakers, you can hear and feel how deep that bass is. Normally we don't see that from songs that have this chilled out and indie pop kind of sound. But DIGY uses the bass so well that it doesn't detract from the song at all. The bass actually serves as this subtle foundation for the song, as well as a filler. We don't necessarily pay attention to it, but the minute the bass is taken away, we can hear and feel it in the way the song sounds. And that precision with the way the musical lines are created, well that gives nothing but praise to the production of the song. The production of this song really is off the charts and DIGY has to be one of the best musical discoveries from this past week. Today's instrumental song is by Imagine Dragons. Lately they have put out music that kind of follows this mellowed out version of music. Now this song is more on the happier and brighter side, but it is still such a beautiful song. I like the evolution I have seen from Imagine Dragons, and this song is no different. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
