Anderson Paak and Hamilton

Today we are back with some new music, and today's song comes as a recommendation from a friend of mine. Now this is an artist who was actually featured in SXSW 2016, and has recently done some touring around the States. Anderson Paak is a very eclectic artist, one who likes to combine differing styles to create something original and fun. This song is one that has this nice funky jazz to it, something that is like an old school groove with a modern twist. Anderson Paak has a strong command of his music, knowing exactly what sound he wants and exactly what words he wants to use. There is an incredible strength to his producing and song writing skills, one that is impressive. Anderson Paak knows himself as a musician, and that can sometimes be hard to find. His rapping style is really interesting, almost like a conversation between the listener and himself. Even though he likes to pick out music from multiple eras, there is still that sense of complete control and mastery of the music. Now this is actually more of a 60s groove jam about heartbreak. Interesting, I know. But for Anderson Paak, it just works! He pulls it off with such finesse and nonchalance that it seems strange to hear anything other than kind of style. What gives Anderson Paak such a mastery over his music, is his ability to provide input in every aspect.. His versatility serves as a way to exercise his knowledge on every part of the song, allowing it to reach its full potential. He is such a skilled rapper, songwriter and lyricist, and instrumentalist. Not to mention he also plays the drums for his own sets. The level of awesomeness that Anderson Paak reaches is pretty much the highest you can get. And to make things even better, the lyrical genius behind Anderson Paak's music is fueled from a place of emotional vulnerability. Now I am one who firmly believes that emotional instability sometimes leads to masterpieces that are worthy of being like their magnum opus. And while Anderson Paak talks about his environment, especially in regards to his relationship, he talks about this recurring topic in a very different way. I appreciate that so much as a listener who wants to hear something more raw and real. Anderson Paak has been a wonderful new artist to discover and really listen to. His ability is up there with artists like Kendrick Lamar, a person he is often compared to. Definitely an artist worth checking out. Today's instrumental song is from the Broadway musical Hamilton. All the music for this musical was created by Lin Manuel Miranda. He composed the score and is the main lyricist, which is one of the greatest achievements in the world in my opinion. The lyrics are genius and so well presented that you can't help but pay attention. The musicality of this song is very similar to the first one, that jazzier form of R&B. I have fallen in love with this soundtrack, and hopefully you'll start to feel that suave but intense nature of the song. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
