Vaski and CMA

Today I have some new music for you by the artist known as Vaski. I am going to be totally honest, I have no idea how to even begin classifying his music because there are elements from a lot of different styles in this song. What I can tell you is that Vaski has really pushed his sound barriers far out to carry and express those subtle complexities and nuances. That is something I can definitely appreciate in a producer because it most certainly is not an easy feat. This is a super laid back approach to EDM production, and that is pretty darn okay with me. Vaski is an artist who has drifted a lot towards crazy dubstep and heavy electronic songs, but this was a nice change. This is a great step away towards something completely different and very laid back. This song has a lot of R&B influences in it, something that has recently become a trend we see. It works really well in this song though because the beats themselves follow the R&B style, while the vocals are more along the lines of chillstep. The beats though are very prominent throughout the song, so that R&B sound tends to take over more of the soundscape. However, this song also has incredibly rich and lush synth lines, each one giving a different flavor to the song. These synth lines have their own kind of EDM style in a way, some more drawn out and others a little bit more robotic. But Vaski does a great job of letting all of these sounds blend together to give us what we hear with this song- something smooth and almost a little sexy, but all around chill and and laid back. I really like this side of Vaski's music and hope to hear more of it! Today's instrumental song is by the artist CMA. This is definitely more traditional chillstep and chilled out house music, which is pretty nice to hear on its own. This song has a lot of melodic intricacies which I fancy, and it is so tastefully woven together. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
