Lost Kings & Rihanna and Kiesza

Today I have another remix for you, a song that is wildly popular which now has an electronic twist to it. Rihanna's music has become extremely popular in both her respected genre of music and mainstream. Now I have to say the first time I heard this song, I was completely annoyed. And the second time I turned it off pretty quickly into the song. I won't lie, the original version of this song doesn't really do it for me. I haven't been able to really get through the song as well as other music, which is totally okay! We can all have our own thoughts on music, and this is just my personal thought on the original. However, this remix by the Lost Kings is pretty darn awesome. Not only did they make this a song that is bearable for me, but they made it a song that I actually enjoy listening to. That is pretty impressive and I really appreciate that! I think what makes their remix something I can stomach, is that they make it sound different. The original song sounds nothing like this. At all. This song has got a happier and more upbeat sound to it for one. The Lost Kings also turned this song into a really fun EDM song, one that has a great energy to it and even a bit of a tropical vibe. Now I won't lie there are parts of this song that still grind my ears a little,  but that is mainly due to Rihanna's vocalization style. That can't really be helped, but the Lost Kings really do make this song a great listen! The song opens up with this nice hollow sound in the percussion sounds and definitely has more of an ambient and atmospheric sound to it. But as soon as that first chorus hits, we get a build up that drops into this synth plucking sound that continues throughout the song and gives it this really nice tropical house sounding vibe. There is this special and signature sound that the Lost Kings have. And we hear that so well through this remix, which is pretty amazing. They do tend to fly the more ambient route, with synth work and softer percussion. And the way their synths work is that it is this nice plucking and plinking sound instead of sustained melodies and notes. I like this change, it brings a different flavor and feel to the music. If you listen to a lot of Lost Kings work, there is this carefree nature to the music, and we get that even with this remix. I really do enjoy the work they have done with this remix, and I definitely need to go back and listen to the rest of their remixes. Today's instrumental song is the first debut single released by Kiesza. I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. This has such an underground eurodance sound to it and I could dance to that all day long! This has such an awesome groove and disco sound to it that the energy is absolutely infectious. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
