Almighty & Farruko and Drake

Today I have an absolutely awesome song for you, a song that is pretty much the greatest thing in terms of song reworks. So this is originally by Desiigner, and this song is one of the most popular songs right now. However, this popular song has been given a makeover and has become even better. So this is a Spanish rework of the song and it is pretty much awesome. This is done completely in Spanish by some of the biggest names in Latin music, including Daddy Yankee, Almighty, Cosculluela, and Farruko. I won't lie, there is something even more hype about the fact that this is in Spanish. I don't know why, but it seems even more bad ass which is great for the sound of this song. This beat is of course part of great production because it takes the beat from the original song. What Farruko adds to this song (other than the Spanish) is the reggaeton sounds in the beat. There are some high hats that are done in reggaeton style, which is very much expected from Farruko. What is cool is that this song still has that same flow as the original despite the fact that it is done in a completely different language. Usually Spanish rap is a little grittier and gruffer, but this was straight up bad ass. I mean it has the "thug" sound to it, maintaining that swagger effect that the original song has. Now being able to do this while also rapping in a different language is extremely commendable. This song has a little bit of trap element to it as well, which I like considering the music world is starting to meld genres together to create new music. With the initial popularity of the original song, I can see why people would want to do covers and remakes of the song. But this version has got to be the hottest and freshest one I have heard so far. Yes, they use the original instrumentation for the song with just a few more layers of drum work. But the lyrical meaning of the Spanish version is totally different from the original, meaning the verses and chorus are all new material. This is just an awesome reminder that music is totally universal, and that people all over the world listen to similar kinds of music and they like making that music their own. Keep it up Farruko! Today's instrumental song is by Drake, and is one that features some of the greatest names in rap. Now this is an older song, but features the best names in rap, and the artists who have been rapping for a long time. What I like about these artists is that their raps have meaning and make a statement, especially Eminem. The man is a lyrical genius, I have to give him at least that much credit. But this song has a wicked beat and a great bass line to go throughout the song. This is a song that uses a lot more instrumentation than other rap songs, with a kickdrum, drum set, synth work, and bass work. I think that is pretty cool and gives the song so much of a full and intense sound. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
