Halsey and Florence + The Machine

Today I have some really incredible music for you by an artist who has recently started to push through the ranks. Halsey has had one or two songs really take off since her debut, but this song has got to be my absolute favorite. She wrote and composed this song for the new movie The Huntsman, and if you have seen the first installment, you know that the music has to match the movie. And of course, it has been done again with Halsey this time bringing a sense of power and struggle and the hunger for the world. I love how sharp and powerful this song is, one that really utilizes the power of an orchestra over the common use of synths and electronic sounds. This is a song that relies on the strength and size and sheer power of sound that and orchestra can bring, something that I can feel through my soul. This track has such a dark vibe to it, something that clearly rings of having deeper meaning, more than just her thoughts on the music industry. That darkness is perfectly representative of the movie which accompanies it, something that literally emanates a fierceness unlike songs I have heard from Halsey before. This is a song that has teeth, something that has a lot of grit and unapologetic lyrics which is such a nice change. There is this interesting elegance to the song as well. That is something that one would necessarily think about when listening to the song, but the lyrics in conjunction with the instrumentals create the elegance befitting of a methodical and power hungry queen. There really are not enough words to describe how perfect this song fits with the movie. This is a fiery introduction into Halsey's world, but it is one that is befitting of such a strong minded and compelling artist. This is a song that is dark and determined, meant to make you feel that same amount of capability and drive. I have to say, Halsey definitely nailed it with this song, creating a masterful work of art that is not only an inspiring listen, but a war cry. Today's instrumental song is a version of a song by an artist who is incredibly underrated, but remains one of the most incredible female vocalists I have ever heard. Florence + the Machine is a group that brings the world of orchestra to the modern music scene, creating music that ranges from being incredibly epic to vulnerably emotional. This song in particular is one that is more full of inspiration and beauty and sheer epicness. I mean the crescendo of sound that you get when listening to this song is amazing! With gentler instruments like harps and violins combined with stronger and fiercer instruments like pounding drums and electric guitars, we get a piece that is revitalizing for the soul. It leaves you speechless and breathless, something that I love. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
