Nick Jonas & Tove Lo and Zayn Malik

Today I have some music for you by an artist who started out being in a three piece band before going solo. Despite his name, Nick Jonas is an artist who is weirdly still in the underground scene. He has one or two big singles out, but the rest of his album remains undiscovered. Which is so sad considering this is such a well produced and masterfully done album. This is a song that has a very unique sound to it, something that is vaguely similar to the Jonas Brothers, but mixed with a lot more synthesizers and R&B elements. I am honestly very impressed with Nick Jonas' work because he has made it something that is complete different from anything else he used to perform. And this album is clearly well produced and put together because it is absolute fire. Now this song is a great one because it showcases a lot of talent from all sectors of music. And to top it off, this is one hell of a sensual slow jam, something that is definitely a mood setter. The song starts off with and instrument that we don't really hear often. The steel drums open the song up, and automatically makes this song a little bit more dramatic since we never really hear steel drums in modern pop and such. But that set up is what really gets the song going, and only gives way to further vulnerable instrumentals. There is a little bit of an electric bass guitar and synths of course. But all together, the instrumentals in this song offer this vulnerably sensual and intimate sound. This is a song that definitely relies heavily on the relationship between the instrumentals and lyrics. Which brings me to the next point. The lyrics are actually pretty clever in this song, especially the line that leads to the main chorus. I really like how Nick Jonas has changed his material over time, and I love how he sings about the struggle of pulling away when first in a relationship. The vulnerability of the song comes from the fact that he can't be vulnerable with anyone else, and that is something that I found paradoxically beautiful. This song is definitely less industrial than his other big hits, and I enjoy that a lot more. we get to hear more of Nick Jonas' vocal range and we get to hear a lot more of his slow jam R&B vocals. Tove Lo was a wonderful addition to the song as well because the pair harmonize very well. Tove Lo takes the deeper parts of the song while Nick Jonas tackles the higher pitches and takes on the falsettos. We get to hear hints of R&B mixed with melodic pop and electronic riffs. I am an absolute fan of this song and look forward to listening to the entire album. I have to say, I am very impressed Nick Jonas. Today's instrumental song is another sexy slow jam. Zayn Malik has done nothing else but put out one of the best albums I have heard all year. I cannot deny how much I love this side of Zayn Malik's music. It suits his vocals and general musical style perfectly. This song is a little bit more upbeat than the sexy jams that we are normally used to, but I am still in love with it. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
