Ferry Corsten and Artistic Raw

Today I have some electronic music for you because it has been quite some time since we have had a nice dose of that. This first song is by Ferry Corsten. Now this song is a pretty sick mix between EDM trance and house. This song is absolutely wicked and extremely well produced. For starters, this song features an incredible vocalist, Nat Dunn. If there is one thing everyone can appreciate about electronic music, the DJ's and artists always pick vocalists who are not only low key, but are also talented beyond belief. I have yet to hear an electronic song that features a vocalist I have not been impressed by. Nat Dunn is a powerhouse, with a voice that is both rich and even a little bit sultry. Where you can really get blown away though is in the chorus when she belts out the two words that really make the song. It is just waves of power from her voice and there is this underlying rasp and rawness to the way she sings the chorus that really gives the song dynamism and character. Then of course, you have the actual electronic part, all the mixing and programming. Ferry Corsten does a brilliant job of making a song that easily transitions from a trance like chorus to a very house-like bridge. And the bridges are also different from one another. But both of them have a really great beat to it and an energy that varies from intense to euphoria. Ferry Corsten uses this piano break beat method to give the song the finesse that it has. I think what sets Ferry Corsten and this song apart from a lot of other electronic tracks is the use of 90's trance. Ferry Corsten is such a strong influence in the European dance world because of his years of experience and contribution to the genre, especially sub genre trance. His music and career is built on trance music and you can still hear those roots in this song. I like that because he really does meld the past and present in a way that is seamless and boundless. Ferry Corsten is a mastermind when it comes to producing songs that are both nostalgic and riveting. Today's instrumental song is by Artistic Raw. This is a project that Afrojack has created to explore other forms of electronic music. This song is pretty sick and features some heavier house work than we normally get from Afrojack. Artistic Raw is a newer project, but I see a lot of potential. There is this wild energy to this song and I think that may be a constant for Artistic Raw. This is a song that allows to let loose and really go wild and be who we really are. This is a great song and features some pretty nasty drops and climaxes. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
